Thanks for checking out my videos. Most of these were made for different 48-Hour contests with a lot of help from my peeps James, Justin and Alexandra (to list a few). Take a look. Leave a comment. And enjoy.
The Imperial March theme playing over Disney World B-Roll is fantastic and fitting. The only ways this could be improved would be using a camera rather than a webcam (at least, the motion blur and low fps make it seem like a webcam), and timing the breathing sounds in between lines of monologue rather than in the background constantly. Funny vid.
hey, I have a question regarding a part of the costume, you know how the night king has these little divet type raised thingies all over his costume? How did you go about making those in your foam?
That was a HUGE pain in the ass. I drew a one-row template on cardboard and cut out the shapes. Then I marked them on the foam with a sharpie, and burned them through with a wood-burning tool. Stinky and tedious.
I used a ton of hot glue to attach the shoulder pieces and other pieces together. But yeah, I also used a huge velcro strap around my waist and under my arms to hook it all together.
Wow! I'm planning on dressing up as the Night King for Halloween this year and I've already ordered the mask online, but I'm clueless on what to do about the armor. I've looked into the EVA foam but I've never used it before and it seems like that's the way to go for making costumes with armor. I think I would be able to make it, but do you have any tips or instructions on how to make the armor? I would GREATLY appreciate it.
Looks like there are a lot more images online of his armor now than when I created this, so you should have plenty of visual references. Yeah, I used EVA foam for the armor. Easy enough to order on Amazon. Just used a heat gun to shape it, and razor blades to cut it up. I also made a template for all the little hole spacings all over it and drew the holes in place with a sharpie, then I burned through the eva foam on those marks with a wood burning tool. Super stinky, and probably deadly toxic fumes, but it gave me the look I was going for. Good luck, @J-Dub 608!
J-Dub 608 I'm making a night Kings armour for my brother and watch as many behind the scenes videos as you can, you'll get more accuracy at all angles from that. Don't get discouraged, it's a more complicated build, but keep at it and it should work well
