Saxophonist Chi-Chun Chen, born in Taiwan, is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Previously, he studied at Taipei National University of the Arts. His primary teachers include Prof. Arno Bornkamp, ChiaHsiu Tsai, and YiLun Chen. An active performer, Mr. Chen has won several awards in competition settings, including the first prize of the 1st Asia Saxophone Congress Competition in 2016, and the 3rd prize of the International Chieri Wind Competition in 2019. He was also selected as the Semi-finalist and the Best Emerging Young Performer at the 5th Jean-Marie Londeix International Saxophone Competition in 2017. Mr. Chen serves as the Music Director of the Art Pondo Saxophone Ensemble, with whom he has toured in many venues in Taiwan. Furthermore, he is a member of the MIT Saxophone Ensemble. In 2019, he performed the saxophone version of Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No.9 with CvA Sax at the Royal Concertgebouw in the Netherlands.

I’ve always heard recordings of the piano accompaniment and could never find any good orchestral accompaniment recording but I think I’ve finally found. Absolutely gorgeous saxophone and orchestra as well!
