These fellows..😊 Heston would be a great Embassador and I would hop over to Great Britain. I am already so to speak. I want to create the ultimate Lollipop. The plantations over here (northern Germany) are delivering the perfect fruits and vegetables… good night, everybody. 🍭
Having a fixed waiter for the entire meal isn’t a thing in Chinese restaurants. You might as well be judging them based on the quality of wine or cheese 😅. It would have been a dick move for them to fire half of their waitresses to win some competition. Respect they didn’t
Something I found out through experience. I think it's the big starchy potatoes I've used. They always come out lumpy no matter how much I boil them and then mash them in phase 2. So, I tried steaming them in phase 2 and it worked. Give it a try if you're in my boat, if you're stuck with less waxy potatoes.
Yorkshire puddings, as explained to me by a Yorkshire mother, was that they were, with gravy, a starter to fill you up. That way, you didn't need quite so much meat for your main course. Just a couple of slices, veggies, and some extra gravy, and you're done, and you've saved a bunch of money.
English mustard, for the mayo? I'm assuming so, he doesn't say...yet, in the scotch egg recipe, he says hot dog (american) mustard. It annoys me, like when they say "oil" but don't say what kind...💩
100% true. Cheek and jaw meat is always so fatty, moist and flavourful. Just have to be willing to dig through to find the delectable treasure hiding under the skin.
The lunch ladies were so lovely! The experience must have inspired them to create amazing puddings for the students in the schools they work in! That was heartwarming.
None of the dishes resemble anything I had in Spain during the 4 1/2 years I lived there. Pork is definitely not typical of Spain, a country which loves its fish and seafood!
I found all the dishes extremely meat heavy and strange. Pigs’ trotters and lots of pork in general? I lived in Madrid for 4 years, and travelled all over Spain, and I never saw pork on the menu! Spanish food concentrates on fresh fish and seafood, which was wonderful for me as a non red meat eater. I believe these restaurants have adapted to British tastes, sadly 😢
I’ve lived in 17 countries and travelled in 51, but Spanish food is my absolute favourite! ❤ Super fresh fish and seafood, an incredible variety of tapas, a big salad at every meal and not much meat 😊
