Man this game was ahead of its time, it reminds me of Dark Souls but a very early version that does its own thing. Its one of those games where once you finish it a lot of other games dont look appetizing afterward, because you want more Drakan.

I mean, with the popularity of elden ring… imagine if it were similar to that, except you can ride your dragons around? I mean drakan was waaayy ahead of its time in a lot of ways…
My all time favorite game Draken Ancient's Gates never played the first cuz I never owned a PC, but the ps2 game I would play this game for hours and had beaten it too many times lol I absolutely love this game and definitely want a remastered version if possible or even a new modern game
Midway was part of my childhood memories. My favorite games from Midway is L.A. Rush, Stranglehold, Hydro Thunder & Offroad Thunder. Oh yeah I almost forgot my favorite is The Suffering.
yes, the first game. the second one is way too different. feels like it plays in another universe. rynn and arokh look completely different, there are suddenly humans instead of rynn being alone against the monsters until the end boss like in the first. it's like the soul and athmosphere are completely different from the first. can't take it as canon. i would love the second game to just be like the first, but better graphics but the same artstyle from the first, lots of new enemies, new maps, few npcs like in the first, more magical music, and rynn fighting alone until the end boss from the first at the ending.
Bally "published" Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Joust, Defender, Galaga, Robotron 2084, and so on, not "produced", since it would imply they developed the games, which they didn't.
It's not fair. Just because the second game of Drakan underperformed or whatever doesn't mean that nobody cares enough to want a sequel to how it ends, especially when the narrator mentioned that the battle was far from over. Why the hell did they have to be selfish enough to do this to us gamers and leave us wondering what will happen next? It's not fair. They have to re-release these two games for PS4 and PS5, then maybe gamers will notice these classics more.
Only way I could see a new installment in the Drakan Series, be it Drakan 3 or a HD remake/reboot of 1 or 2, would be by somebody purchasing the IP off of WB; In fact if I should ever unexpectedly happen to win or somehow else acquire a huge amount of money, then I won't hesitate to contact them and make a deal.

Thankyou dude!! For the life of me I couldn't remember the names of these games... Been searching for them on and off for years. I was only young, but I remember playing Drakan The Ancient Gates demo and thought it was the best thing ever. There was also a time I played The Fellowship Of the Ring, and thought that that too was pretty epic... Of course they were the same company... Connected a lot of dots for me man I appreciate it hey. Good to know they came from a humble beginning too. I agree with you. Not a direct sequel, but a game like it. Even a reboot with character customisation would be nice. Time to go spam WB...
Not releasing DTAG for Pc was a major neck breaking situation. First getting tons of fans on the pc and then forcing them to switch to ps2 made a lot of people lose interest. I bet if they had it released for PC and PS2 we would have had a sequel and remakes. It was such a great concept and they could develop a new story easily (Besides that " Yesterday I had the mighiest weapon and amor but now i don't even know how to handle a breadknife"- Problem at the beginning of each game. Maybe a story about rynns child idk).
