In Brazil, since girls and women are more prone to consuming KPOP (that's just our demographic here), the concert which I went to in São Paulo was pretty much 60/40 female, at the most 70/30, but I do know that Twice is one of the Girl Groups in KPOP that has gathered a large male audience, and I do think that's the case in South Korea and maybe even in south-asia in general. All props to us Once's fanboys! 🥳
PSS, Sana was the killing voice in Rewind you, PLUS she wrote it. Treat your self to a Sana solo & the first half is, ahem, acapella: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jn47nrQPexg.html
BEHIND THE CURTAIN is straight fire, like all JYP groups, they sing LIVE too, and despite Momo being sick as a dog, the performance was off the charts for a showcase in Japan, at the Pia arena. Here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DM7zYgZux1s.html
There won't be Funny Valentine and other live performances available on their Japanese official channel, even on their main TWICE channel. JYPE just usually releases live perf of the lead and sub lead tracks, ONCEs would be lucky enough if they will post live perf or b-sides. So for other HD quality MiSaMo live performances, you can check them out in "TWICE Museum" channel.
There are a lot of TWICE live performances that are not upload on their official channel (www.youtube.com/@TWICE) and Japanese channel (www.youtube.com/@twicejapan_official). JYPE just usually posts the live perf of the lead and sub lead tracks, ONCEs are lucky enough if there will be b-sides. So for this Masterpiece album, only the live performance for Behind the Curtain and Do Not Touch are available. You can check the other HD quality live performances of Funny Valentine and other 4 more songs on a fan channel >>> TWICE Museum (www.youtube.com/@twicemuseum4373).
feels like a brazilian song bc the elements in blind is such characteristic of some musics in here. Blind feels like traditional, funkerist and also sounds like a ost of a novel here called Avenida Brasil, butttt has a lot latin elements, make blind being that brillant song
It’s def not 70% male anymore. It skews female now prob 60% female 40% male. Male fans usually abandon girl groups cuz they go after the younger female idols sadly - there’s stability in female fans. And I say this as a guy that has attended many concerts the demo is def 50/50 in the US.
There won't be official YT channel sadly for the other performance, but you can watch the high quality performance video from the TWICE Museum channel where the misamo performances are available
Nice reaction! Now I have been to several TWICE concerts in Japan, Korea and the US. I can honestly say that the crowd is a mix of not only both genders, but also from children, teens, young adults, middle age and older folks, and they seem to enjoy the concert. The production of TWICE Concerts are amazing!
Honestly, I doubt the vocals are actually fully live in a lot of these Twice concerts, especially when they're dancing (with the exception of Jihyo and MAYBE Nayeon/Jeongyeon). It's not common in K-Pop in general-- backing vocals tracks usually overpower the actual singing. Their Killing Voice seemed pretty live, though.
I don't really understand this sentiment, yes Jihyo is a power vocal and all round great singer, but all the Twice members are now good singers there's plenty of evidence to that fact. The idea that the other members are just dancing around lip-syncing and just letting one member sing is ridiculous. Last world tour they literally had a live band in addition to the solo stages. The only parts I notice they don't do live is some of the lesser ad-libs. You can go look up MR removed videos: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6kMmbSrDYk4.html
@@zer0_cool I didn't say anything about lip-syncing (they aren't) or the members not being good singers (they are). But backing vocals doing a lot of heavy lifting is standard in K-Pop concerts, and you can often tell when they're present. Even a vocal power-house like Mamamoo often do it. It's not an indictment, and I don't think MR removed contradicts this (although the source video of your example certainly sounds like it has a less powerful backing track than this does). The fact that you can more clearly hear their (perfectly reasonable) vocal imperfections and see their faces straining and exerting during the Killing Voice, despite being in a controlled environment where they're standing still, significantly more than in this uncontrolled environment where they're doing choreo, have blank faces even during the challenging bits, the crowd's loud, and the audio is virtually studio-perfect kind of tells you everything. I'm not suggesting that they can't (or never) do fully live, I just have doubts that this is an example of that (and it's common in K-Pop concerts not to). I'm not making an assumption about Jihyo based on some perception of vocal superiority or something, I'm just saying that I've seen more examples where Jihyo having fully live vocals during concerts w/o a backing track is obvious, because you can hear her voice actually slightly faltering and quivering once in a while, as well as hear her breaths (and off-the-cuff improvisations), which is what you would expect from something fully live. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just worth clarifying in response to his bewildered comment about stability.
K-pop concerts, in general, don't fully live for obvious reasons. In Twice japan concerts, most of the time, the backtrack is low, so it's really easy to notice when they're lipsyncing or just not singing (well, at least to me lol). Misamo showcase was basically the same, you can easily see when their voices are overpowering the backtrack and when they're not. Talking about stability, even with the backtrack you can easily hear the breath pauses that they do (in this performance), so the backtrack is not that high and it's easy to notice when it's the backtrack sound and not them (you can notice it by their tones changes and textures to). I would say their voices are overpowering the backtrack 90% of the time in this performance.
Even Jihyo, Nayeon and Jeongyeon parts have backtrack, not just because it's hard parts or something, but most of the time because of the harmonies that they do using their own voice for ad-libs. Mamamoo is a great example of an extremely powerful vocal group and they still use backtrack for harmonies, because it's basically impossible for you to do 3 diferrent tones, with different textures and highs at the same time lol
Talking about my experience, when you see they live it's way more easy to notice these things. The problem with twice concerts videos is that they usually try to make the cheers lower and it ends up lowering the girls voice too. That's why the backtrack can sound too loud, because she's the only thing that don't suffer any editing.
Like I said hard to tell about the ad libs but you heard how high Sana can go. This was the perfect opening act to this play and I'm saying it again, watch out Sharon's coming for us all and Sana ain't backing down to her, Momo is one of my wreckers so she's already got me. OT9 forever (TIMELESS).
Maybe there's more guys when it comes to music shows or fanmeets in Korea? But from my own concert experience (when they came to Canada last year), it was pretty much 50-50 on the genders in the crowd, as far as I noticed.
Back when they debuted with the cute concept yeah you could see and hear it was mostly men but nowadays I think even in Korea it's pretty close to even, at least based on what I've seen from videos. But yeah in US it was also mixed.
Good morning, thank you for your reaction. If you want to hear Rami's style more in this song, please react to the Batter Up remix version which is typically the 2nd encore song at the end of these fan meets. They definitely excel when performing live.
Totally agree with you, batter up aged well, maybe because of live performance and Ahyeon stage presence, you can actually hear the crowd goes wild when Ahyeon sings. And the even rap part is so good in live Ruka and Asa killed it and everyone erupted that's crazy.
Let’s go! It’s been a long time. Love it that the J-Line gets to rap in their own language 🔥 I had a few issues keeping the 7 apart at first too. Mind boggling indeed! Font geek in da house 😂👍 Thx for your reaction 🙏 ❤❤❤-❤-❤❤❤
The original Batter Up debuted as OT6 and is a very successful song with currently 281 million views and the song took down Blackpink's debut song, Boombayah 7 year record for the Fastest 200 million views in kpop debut history ever. Ahyeon was sick. You start to realise that Batter Up was written for OT7 with Ahyeon in the vocal mix. Ahyeon just made Batter Up shift up a notch in terms the vocal power that she can bring to the song.
