I think Ting Ting Ke, the Chinese diver the went last, was disturbed by the 2 men standing on the stairs when she was doing a handstand for the dive. Those 2 were disgusting!

If same 2 divers perform in 2024, results will be very different for 2 reasons. First of all, China in the 80s wasnt as powerful as they are now. As well, there was no internet back then, ppl would be all over it within mins if it's today! 😂😂😂
Very unfair judge.... Chinese last round spepus to be 9 or 10.... stupid game... Btw Chinese it's Winn all the game after This happened.. karma.... stupid judge 😂...
I remember watching a British diver talk about why the Chinese were the best divers. He talked about amazing their diving facilities are which impressed him when China held international competitions. He also talked about how the just work harder. I can see here that their system is set up to continue a long tradition of excellent Chinese diving.
Diving judging is very subjective. I don’t know since when they started using fina judges at international competitions. Judges look at take off hight, distance, forms, movements in the air, come out and entry to determine a score. Xongni had everything. I compared 1984 and 1988 platform judging. 1984 judging was much looser and divers got a lot of 9s with much worse dives. I am glad that now the system is better. US was dominating the sport until the 80s. Louganis is a legend. He has power and grace. My children are divers and met him twice. Xongni was superb in 1988 Olympics. He is the winner of that game in my heart!
Slight under rotation. You can see the water splash back away from the tops of her feet, towards the platform. Not perfect But really close. Glad all y’all are not judges. If there was a slight splash that was centered then yeah, but she has a very slight under rotation.
