Old Witcher is the channel about the Witcher Universe. We tell stories about Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer, Ciri, Gaunter O'Dimm... and many other characters. About historical persons, and battles, and, of course, about the games - from Gwent to Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Secrets, lore, history of the Witcher World and the Continent - everything is here.
in dnd succubus are one of the few types of fiends who have had multiple none evil individuals some even becoming full on good aligned. my theory is succubus are one of the only types of fiends that have offspring like mortals and typically care and raise them as well so this instinct to nurture their own offspring gives them enough ability to protect and care for others which makes them more prown to abandoning their full evil nature unlike other fiends who typically are made from the souls of evil mortals or spawned by the evil planes they are native to succubus and certain similar fiends can be made the same way but many if not most are born the same way mortals are.
As a transient being by nature, it is hard to decide what is what, and it takes an extremely analytical mind to perceive the over/under laying truth. The human mind is easy to trick, especially the ones aren't well verse in this subject😏
Gaunter O dimm, master mirror, man of glass. You all think he's a demon, rumblestilskin, devil, jinn. Let me tell you all a hint, Snow White. Magic mirror on the, who's the evil bitch fairest of them all? Grant wishes, answered your questions, and showed images of people in places. Gaunter's riddle game to play Geralt reveals what he is. Jinn don't come out the mirror, only containers like bottles and lamps. Gaunter is actually faceless magic artifact. Mystery is solved 🎉🎉🎉🎉 His real name is mirror mirror on the wall and you can controll him just like Snow White's stepmother did. Gaunter will kill me since i know his name.
A chort would be great. I remember that succubi saying that they were essentially the same species, related or something and chastises you for lusting after her but killing them. Great companion video
I liked the way CDPR portrayed Succubae as peaceful but hated the way they based them upon Pan, running counter to every bit of lore regarding them - sorry but goat legs are a mood-killer. Also, Succubae is the correct spelling. CDPR misspelt it in the game.
You are the only person I've ever seen call succubi, "succubae". Even checked my dictionary from the 70s, and it's spelled "succubi" for plural succubus there. So, no, "succubae" is the incorrect spelling, while succubi is the correct one.
11:20 I don't think the Aeschna is a rare creature, Geralt seems to think that it thrives since humans polluted the Pontar and there was more than one that attacked his boat. 14:43 No, the Kayran isn't a creation of the Spheres, if you discuss with Sheala, Geralt affirms that the Kayran is a creation of a mage and that it is unsuited to live decently in the river of Flotsam. Cedric also said that the Kayran appeared recently, it's not a hundreds of years old creature. Triss confirmes that it is unstable and detoriating. 16:20 Aguaras kidnaps only elven girls, not humans. They wouldn't be rare otherwise considering humans are one of the most prolifique species.
18:05 I'm not sure that means he can travel in time, it might just mean he is immortal, that's why he appears throughout history (tbh I already kind of assumed demons are immortal since they behave more like concepts or spirits than actual creatures)
I can see the hellhound being the basis for a social dediction game, like Town of Salem. A villager or villagers commit heinous/blasphous acts, and the hellhound's pack kills a random villager after each round that the culprits arent caught.
Gounter is a being similar to djinn, a demon. Demons and djinns work nearly the same. The only difference is how to seal them. To seal the djinn you need to beat him, while to seal a demon you have to summon them corectly and seal them with their name. If djinn is let lose he just escapes, but if demon is let lose then well... you better kill yourself, it will be easier. Demons are sealed by their name, thats the reason o dimm kills and haunts anyone who knows or tries to discover it. He most likely is demon whom sealing process was f up, and he was free. And whats the demons favorite food? Souls of course. We see that with "him" in cerys questline, or caretaker during his fight.
Shit ... Not even a mention of the bruxas and the succubi ? They are this interesting part of the game where the danger is also in yourself and your carnal appetites...
Love these videos, so cozy and interesting, just watched it while eating my herb bread with spicy cream cheese, tomatoes, red pepper and cucumber! ^^ keep it up and I'll be looking forward to the next one! I'd be glad if youd cover any of the monsters mentioned in the end of the video, cheers and take care on the path! <3
Correction in a word used involving the Kayran section. A hermaphrodite is a creature with both sexual organs, which both can function. Some sea slugs and sea snails are hermaphrodites. Reproducing by splitting apart is called "asexual reproduction." Though, the largest thing that's seen to do this are earth worms, and it only happens if its cut in half. It's most common in extremely small or single celled organisms.
@@geoffreyquintelier6390 Then it's a common misconception that I've repeated. Swear there was some creature that isn't extremely small or even just a single cell that's able to fully reproduce asexually.
Before watching the video: there is a mistake in your info of this video. You wrote that elves hid behind walls, which is wrong. Elves never built walls surrounding their cities and castles, only humans did much later when they took over the cities. This is explicitly stated in the books, at the start of Lady of the Lake IIRC.
ok stop right there, denouncing someone heretic didn't get them burned at the stake in just a few hours. Only half of the documented cases ended in a buring.
You have an amazing voice, I love books and libraries and audiobooks and such, and hearing narrations and such like these are the best of RU-vid. Thank you for doing these, I appreciate them.
If I had to pick a single monster that's the most powerful it would have to be The Elder vampire from Blood and Wine. Higher Vampires are a whole are insanely powerful. I mean just look at Regis. Fairly weak for a Higher Vampire and yet he survived being melted into a bloody puddle and yet he survived. Sure it would have taken hundreds of not thousands of years for him to regenerate if not for outside aid and even then it took him a couple years to even regain any form of awareness and even longer to regain his body. But The Elder is on a whole different level. The way he was able to blitz Gerald before he even knew what was about to happen is honestly one of the most horror movie moments in all of the games.
So many things I like in his character design like the fact that just like with the Unseen Elder all our gear, Witcher tricks and mastery of swordfighting are useless. Or the fact that we can simply allow him to proceed and even get a reward for it, all fair and square. The words he speaks when defeated and the fact these are actual languages and not a gibberish. The fact that he is most likely the devil - but we never know for sure. And so much more.
