@@druce8896 thats true it is easy to calculate the reverse and deduct the max number, but you know the end is never a fixed number so the result might not satisfy.
If you didn't want to hand code in the field mapping objects, you could also use a da.SearchCursor object on the input features, store those in a list or in generator expressions, and then immediately insert them with an InsertCursor into the target dataset making sure that the field list argument for the search and insert operations are mapped by index. Or you could build dictionaries and map them in the main insert loop.
Hello im kinda new to this, and i havent watched the tutorial yet, i wanna use this ArcMap software since alot of the tutorials i wanna follow use it, is this tutorial a way to obtain that
This looks amazing, well done! And thanks for all the material on your channel, very helpful. I was able to do a workaround to get something similar for the plan view and the elevation profile. However, I don't understand the nature of the element that fills in the engineering data from the *.csv file. Is it a graph in disguise, or a separately generated element added as a picture in the dedicated area, or something else? Best regards,
Hi mate, thank you for your feedback, it means a lot to me. All main parts are dataframes, i mean Plan view, Section view and Engineering view are all dataframes with layers saved into geodatabases and generated from csv's (csv's are similar of what i have displayed). This means labels and symbologies are dynamic, and can be modified. However, I have been buzzy with my current project to proceed with more videos. But very soon I will have time and I will upload more content about this matter, dont get me wrong but I have spent several weekends preparing this script and it is not 100% finished (at least what I'm thinking of).
Thank you for sharing. I followed this process but see the annotations to be very large. Is there something I'm missing? The scale was set as shown here
The scale has to do with Arcgis pro annotation size, when exported in cad normally they will have the same size that you have in Arcgis pro (at least in version 3.2). However, to control your size there is a column in the annotation layer named *Font Size* , if you change the font size number (for your case make it smaller) the CAD output will have smaller annotations as well. Hope it helps
I have and ATTRIBUTE but want to show the alternative text in domain.... its ina tex box un every line is an attribute... I use domainname() but is not working in someone attributes... how to do it?
I think is better to ask the question to gis.stackexchange.com/ , there is a dedicated space only for GIS and that forum is very active (I'm part of it as well).
Really good videos... have seen of you!... one question... Any way to export a layout from arcgis pro to autocad... dont have to be a autocad layout... just a cad file with the frame and the poligons inside the frame .... its from a map series of 260 pages ... but only want one page to CAD... thanks.
It is not possible to export arcgis layout into cad layout. All you can do is clipping all your layers according to the sheet that you want and export layers into cad layers.
May be i was not clear.... I want to export a arcgis layout as a DWF or DWG... so when I open this file open in AutocaD... not showing as a CAD layout.... hope you understand my query.... ❤
@@emersoncardenas I understand your question, but is not possible to do it. You can export layers from Arcgis into CAD layers, search in geoprocessing for the tool named "Export to CAD", export all your layers into CAD then create the layout from CAD. Unfortunately, that's the only way, or you can try to export it into AIX and then open it with Adobe Illustrator (however this is not a good solution).
Is the engineering information plotting possible through dynamic segmentation/ Location Referencing? Pls share some elaborative videos on alignment sheets. Asos, are similar alignment sheets also possible without python programming?
Without programming is possible to create only the plan layout. The section/engineering/coordinates view is impossible unless you purchase extra plugins (from third parties). for the moment I'm extremely buzzy with my work, but I will be back on RU-vid soon. Take care
This is great stuff! Do you have another video that shows how to link the map frame with the .csv files so they show up all coloured and labeled like you have them?
Thats true, but you must play with scale and text size. Let say if there is a big area covered with over 100 maps, of course, you will keep the appropriate index map scale so the polygons are visible. This means that a lot of polygons will be outside of the canvas, but it gives you an idea of where is located the current one.
You can pay 6 bucks a month for gsuite, and then sign up for 21 day trial with email, then create an email "alias" every 3 weeks. You get an advanced license.. Also, gsuite gives unlimited email aliases, so just set up new one and reso free trial.. i have been doing it for over a year and have more features than the other plebs at work bc I have advanced.
One of the most complicated tutorial. How do you display the chainages which are different for each kilometer? For example you are collecting road data and making stop at each feature. For example chainages like these below 2.20 12.90 43.20 45.50 50.60
Easy steps to get it: 1 - Open an arcgis global account 2 - Find MOOC (Free online courses) 3 - Register for any MOOC 4 - Get the license and you enjoy the course
hi.. how about if dataset #1 have attachment, and dataset #2 also have attachment, lets say dataset #2 in a input and #1 is a target. i have try append using your method. it's work but only spatial will merge. attachment not bring together. any idea?
In ArcGIS Desktop, you have to append also the table that keeps attachments, which is in the same geodatabase and same as your layer name with the suffix __ATTACH. Hope it helps.
