I met that dude after the Louisville game. I do think he has potential to be a captain in 2 years, followed by being up there with Manti Te'o, Jaylon Smith, and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoa. I even told him that.
2nd and one, up by one point, with 6 minutes to go with a really tough 6’4” quarterback and the call was spooky bad way more than the horrible throw. That call is the reason we lost and not the throw. Denbrock had no business making that play call. None
I wish I didn't sense it but I feel as if this team has one more bad loss in them. It's a huge grind to go undefeated in general but feel like it's even a bigger grind to win 10 in a row with all kinds of pressure on you. I don't know who: Army? Navy? But feel like they just cannot do it.
Part of Goldens plan is to keep the ND O off the field. No need to go off and on. Just stay out there. The more plays against our D, the better chance for a scoop and score or pick 6. When the bad guys get inside the 40, time to buckle down. Maybe!
The last ND offensive drive before Louisville turned it over on downs was telling. The playcalling was about as pedestrian as could be. Clearly, the emotional scars from NIU were still present. It's not a very good offense right now, and it isn't solely the quarterback. You can tell a lot by what coaches won't call. Looked like Michigan's offense right now despite way more talent.
Well, we have another “can ND turn the corner” and “season on the line game.” ND has Leonard going through his Spring Ball with a new team. ND has an OL that is taped together and the top talent is two years away from their best. ND will need: Knapp to have good game. Golden has enough answers for Brohm. Price has a major positive impact as Louisville takes away Love and let’s Leonard throw. Special teams make NO mistakes.
Stop criticizing this young man! He’s an amazing, talented quarterback. He’s only going to continue to improve. It would help if the fans would encourage him. To “boo” a student is disgraceful, it says more about the fans than it does about the man. I’m rooting for you Riley, along with thousands of others!
Stop pampering him as if he’s an incoming 12th grader that just started playing ball 3 months ago. He’s a senior experienced QB that should not have these “growing pains”. He was paid a substantial amount to come to ND to perform. He’s underperforming drastically. You can play the feelings card all you want, but his performance doesn’t lie.
Coach: He can't pass with any consistency. The NIU model will be followed by every team you play. You are a 8-4 team at best because you have saddled yourself with a running QB who can't pass. Too bad. Dr. Michael J. Deeb
No offense to NIU or Purdue but Louisville speed and athleticism is much different. Louisville struggles against running QBs but like you said Leonard is going to have to throw the ball effectively against Louisville which I think ND wants to see anyway. Will be a good game. My prediction is ND by 3
......and you thought Coach Freeman would out coach Lincoln Riley last year???...and you thought Coach Freeman would out coach Dabo Swinney the year before that??? Your confidence level in anything related to this game carries a value of less than zero.
I definitely didn’t get the impression that Freeman was apologizing or had any regrets about how he handled Adon in that situation. I think the way he explained it was great
Fast One:: My observation was that Shuler popped-up after an emotional play and saw "the guy in the green shirt" (an intern who often moves the ball on and off the field) and tossed him the ball; nothing malicious (Freeman found that out). Bonus: Spindler and Coogan did not have good games vs. 'Ville last year...something to monitor.
Greg, l thought of the ‘92 secondary being the last secondary that matched up to this year’s group. Bobby Taylor was a freshman who Holtz inserted into the FS role, then moved him to CB in ‘93. He was referred to as the Eraser. That ‘92 group was really good. I also agree with the growth of Leonard in this game. It got lost in the aftermath of the first quarter, but it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think that he will keep on getting better. It’s only a matter of whether or not it’ll be enough vs. Louisville.
The score was 28-3 but some possessions were a bit wonky. I think Leonard played better this week vs last week. The scoreboard doesn't always tell the whole story
Where did Notre Dame get the idea that they can instruct journalists on what questions can be asked & not asked? I’m kind of outraged at the high handedness of that in your behalf, since you journalists seem to just accept it.
