Hi, I have used these strings for a couple of years now. I find their strength is not in the rhythm style you show here, but rather in fingerstyle playing . The extra sustain you mention and the more sonorous tone they bring out in an instrument, are so useful in song accompaniment. As you say , they aren't perfect in every setting, but if someone has a good grounding in chords and a relaxed style of picking then they can bring a whole new flavour to a song.
