This is a beautiful Album and a favorite. It's an Adventure into great vocal & Jazz performance. On July 29th, 2024 I bought this Album at a thrift store for $2.00. The Album is also in perfect condition. And at this same thrift store I bought a nice functioning trumpet for $20.00 the same day. Thanks for this timeless "Jazz for Those who Feel" Jazz.
I bought the record in the early 80's. Still got it in a very good state. Remembering this song was played by the LVC DJ in Leiden as the last song before closing hour. Lovely times .
From the times when Folk was unashamed renditions told of hard times, much like the Blues, by those still experiencing those hard times, getting stronger by learning how to cope with & hopefully conquering them. Not by those who knew no hard times, pretending they did. Giving a hand to those on the same hard road, sharing their meagre earnings, giving shelter in abandoned buildings, singing songs of shared hardships, showing how victory in the face of adversity, often becomes the way out of 'The Weight' that tries to sink a drowning being, to find the strength to keep on trying to reach the shore. That which cannot bring you down, will surely save you.
Heard this song for the first time on Megan and Harry netflix documentary and have been hooked ever since! This song tells Megan's and Harry's story very well indeed ❤❤❤ What a gift🎉🎉🎉🎉
It’s effing stupid that no record label has done a reissue 3CD/vinyl/digital reissue of this album and all its b-sides and remixes. Young Disciples deserved so much more attention than they got
Does anyone else remember the Matt Johnson side project where he recorded folk songs and wore a long hair wig? I remember finding this years ago but don’t recall the name of the group.
