doubt this is the way you should solder. actually it is preferred to solder to the PCB pad first then to the chip. if you solder to the chip first you cause tension while bending the wire and often will rip the pad off ruining the chip.
i wish youtube would make uploading videos with music in them illegal. there is a sure fire way to ruin a video, upload some horrible ear bleeding royalty free crap noise over it
