A little bit of everything, but a whole lot of nothing. Join me on this crazy journey called life! I will focus on several subjects that are of interest to me, including EDC Gear, Zippos, Knives, Tools and much more. Thanks for the interest!
It has been so long that I think that particular seller isn't there any more. Just search "Bright Ping Sound Lighter" on aliexpress and then be very careful and look at reviews and performance. I really believe that I got lucky with this one. Sorry that I can't help further, but thank you for watching.
This one takes butane, any high quality butane will work. Colibri is good if you can find it. I am using Vector right now, and have been happy so far. Thanks for watching@
I do not have a link to the same place I got mine from, try looking up "Ping sound lighter Aliexpress" on Google and you should find some lighters that look similar to mine. I can't vouch for the quality of every vendor, so please do your due dilligence as a shopper and research before buying :) Thanks for watching!
Still holding up really well! I changed the flint and have refilled it several times now, really a great lighter. Be sure to look at reviews on AliExpress. Make sure you are getting a quality item. If you get one like mine you won't be disappointed!
I hope this message reaches you. So im looking forward to order a few lighters off of Aliexpress and i wanted to ask a few questions. 1. would you order lighters again from aliexpress if you had to and why? 2. how has your ST Dupont held up until now? any problems? does it run without any issues? 3. does it regularly need to be maintained? 4. Ive seen a lighter which im sure you've seen as well all over social media, it has a crocodile or alligator that has flame coming out of the mouth. i've heard people report that this specific model leaks gas and there is no point in trying to fix it. have you had the same issue? 5. have you had any problems with lighters you have ordered from Aliexpress?
@@bigbruh537 I have ordered a few lighters from Aliexpress, maybe 3 or 4 separate orders. It depends on what lighter you get, the particular ST Dupont fake has been a solid option, never changed the flint, filled it maybe 10 times total? It has worked flawlessly. I think those alligator lighters are unfortunately cheap junk, never heard anything good about them. I don’t have one though, so I can’t attest to them personally. Oh, and yes, I would definitely order from Aliexpress again. Just be sure to find a reputable seller with good feedback not only for their store, but for the individual item as well. Thanks so much for your comment, hope this helped, and thanks for watching!
Ive bought an alligator lighter, when it worked it was amazing but only worked for about 2 months before it busted. If you have it on full, it is dangerous. I have burnt the ends of my hair and my eyelashes using it. Worth it though because it looks badass
The problem i have with knock off luxury items is that it devalues what it means to own the genuine product I understand not everyone can spend almost 2 grand on a lighter I recently bought the le grand ligne 2 crepuscule monte christo collaboration lighter from la cassa del habano in Brussels and its an absolute masterpiece It is more about pretending it is something when it's not that i have issues with But of course, if you don't have the means yet I partly understand, but there are many great lighter from dunhill, montblanc and dupont for a couple hundreds I started my dupont journey with the maxijet which was 290 A very beautiful lighter but its not a ligne 2 le grand Enjoy it in good health though ❤
Yes, this is a problem with knockoffs. I just wanted a cool looking lighter that was made well, and this just happened to be a knockoff. I wasn't looking specifically for a knockoff, but I just saw this one and was fascinated by it. I will openly say it is a knockoff, I agree when people try to pass off fakes as real items that is not right. I am currently looking at an IM Corona, the real deal. They are like $120, a little more reasonable, at least for my budget haha. Awesome that you got to get the real thing, I am sure it is a masterpiece. There IS a difference in things like that, but I can't justify spending that much just yet. Thanks so much for watching and the comment, lots to think about!
@kismitscorner anytime 😊! Smoking cigars is a luxury everyone can afford And so it goes with lighters, the IM corona is a gorgeous lighter and you'll see that you'll feel much better lighting up your cigaret or cigar with that lighter as it is genuine product The ligne 2 are usually made out of solid brass and then lacquered or coated with either platinum, palladium or gold You have 3 variations the normal ligne 2 with single soft flame, the ligne 2 double flame and the the le grand with a double flame and blue flame mechanism built in The price varies from the complexity of the lighter Of course dupont makes lighters that are made from solid materials but instead of the 1350 to 2k mark, you look at 20k The weight is mostly due to the full brass construction it feels solid in the hand and weighs more, and once you spark the flame it does sound different on the genuine lighter But congratulations on the IM corona! Something you will be able to rely on for generations to come!
Wish you could show a better angle so I can see if you're using the "flat" part of the sharpener or the "90 degree" angle part of the sharpener. Thank you for this tutorial as it did help somewhat.
I am using the 90 degree part, using the flat would not accomplish much, you want to be scraping material away. Hope this helps further! Sorry for the bad camera work and thanks for watching!
@kismitscorner So I've been practicing, and I can actually hear the difference when I use the angle and not the flat. Thank you so much. This was incredibly helpful 😊
Apparently the metal Clippers have these features, and the standard plastic ones do not. At the time, I didn't realize this. Sorry this couldn't be of help, thank you for taking the time to watch and comment though!
@@kismitscorner Apparently that's not quite right either because I have a metal one That came in a metal box and it also doesn't have any of that. The screw on the bottom does nothing but secure the inner mechanism to the decorative metal casing. It would appear that they make at least three mechanical variations of these lighters.
So I have been hurting for something just like this. Is there an adapter that you can use to go from 1/4 square female to 1/4 hex bit male? If so then you could use this in any Multi-Bit screwdriver and turn it into a ratcheting multi-Bit screwdriver. Do you have any ideas of that type of adapter?
thanx buddy. i was afraid to pick at it. now its usable. mine came from the box with the max setting making only a 1.5 cm flame.... pretty crap when its windy and such. now i can light a smoke in a hurricane :)
That is so cool. That's a great trick using the 1/4" drive extension and that sliding t handle dual driver works great with the handle. I think I have a bit ratchet/driver addiction, so I'll be picking this up.
I got mine a while back, maybe they are no longer made? I have not been able to find another either. Sorry I can't be of help, but thanks for watching! @@brianjaimes8067
@@kismitscorner these Ligne2 copies are not made in torch (same goes for legit ones). Soft flame all around. There's the Le Grande series that does both soft and torch, but they are also larger to accommodate the extra bits. Lastly, the 2 hatches on the bottom are for gas regulation and the other is butane fill port. You change the flint from the top. All are like the originals in this respect. I been wondering if anyone had one and reviewed it so thanks for this vid.
@@tainowarrior5781 I would like to see a version that has a torch option like you mentioned on the Le Grand. Glad to have helped, this lighter is still going strong as well, so I would definitely try one out!
@@kismitscorner lol, in fact mine will be here this week. Just like yours but gold. A copy of a 1980s Montparnasse edition. I doubt Le Grande copies will be made because the Chinese factories would have to engineer from the ground up. Keep yours alive with good butane. I recommend Newport. Zero impurities keeps your fuel line clear. Amazon has great deals on it. Get you some and enjoy your lighter for a good long time, sir.
That is all personal preference, but I really like the DLC black one, there is something about it that is just nice to hold. You can't go wrong either way though! Thanks for watching!
This is Level 3 of a tiered EDC system. Saying this is EDC is a little dishonest, I really only carry this level when I know I am working on a project. My actual daily carry is much less than this. Thanks for watching!
Well that would be nice, but this is just for extended tasks, where I might need more tools. I usually carry a lot less, this again is just for when I know I am working on something. Thanks for watching!
You can Anodize in a few ways, but the way I anodized the titanium gear here can be found in this video I did a while back on a titanium lighter. Thanks for watching! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HrVoStepfsw.htmlsi=-QuyqdzM0xDAIUXU
This is a premade product, available here: www.commandoproducts.com/commandoprecisionfilehandlewith6minineedlefilesstoredinsidetheanodizedproserieshandle-1.aspx
Just a couple of months basically haha. Mine got here sooner than estimated I think, which was cool, so maybe watch for that? Who knows with these Chinese companies though.
Indeed, but I carry it in a bag, so it doesn't really affect me all that much, if I were carrying that on my person, it would be unbearable! Haha, Thanks for watching!
