My dog Loki and I will show you all the many adventures we go on! Fishing, hiking, cooking in nature, and everything outdoors. You won't want to miss this journey!
Man that's a good flathead! It definitely got to me! These big fish are not commonly caught here in our waters. That fish had been alive for close to 2 decades, makes it hard because I had him out of the water a little longer than I wanted to measure and weigh and take pictures. And I didn't eat him because the meat was trash, that sucks big time! Next time all my stuff will be ready and I'm leaving them in the water in my net until I'm ready to measure and weigh. Thank you for watching!
I'm addicted to pike fishing! I have over 15 thousand hours of pike fishing from the past 5 years! Not joking at all! I wanted to start this channel a long time ago but didn't.
I pike fish almost every weekend! The next video is smallmouth and largemouth bass, then another pike video. So weekend after next. Thanks for your support!
shouldn't use the grippers for pike their mouth is sensitive try laying on them on their side in between your legs then but four fingers in between top gills and pulling upwards should open its mouth. try holding the four fingers under the gill to hold them or grab behind their dorsal fins try keep away from gill rakers (red gill). and when you weigh them put them in your net not by the gills and then weigh the net separate.I like to carry anti bacterial spray for where the hooks have been to minimize infection Good video tho. not trying to be an ass just helping you improve so the fish stay healthy and are not harmed.
Thanks a lot for that information! Northerns are invasive here where I fish and we're technically supposed to kill any we catch. I will use better handling methods in the future! Thank you for watching!
The best thing about this video.... no snow or ice 😅 I am not sure where this is but it looks a lot like where I live in Maine. Beautiful area that you hiked!
I really can't wait for winter to be over. Definitely my most boring video yet, but hiking with Loki is a big part of my life and I wanted to share it. I will work on making the hikes more interesting like adding some cooking out there or something. Thanks for watching anyways!
@@Montucky_Matt No problem! It was a nice way to kick back and spend ten minutes in my recliner with a nice hot cup of coffee! Keep putting out that content!
Thanks for watching! How did you like the editing on this one? Do you like short cuts keeping the action nonstop? Or should I have some longer catches and tell more of a story?
@@Montucky_Matt That is a tough question to answer. Personally, I don not mind the longer videos if it is content I find interesting. For instance, if I get up on a Saturday morning, settle in with my steaming hot black coffee and find someone I subscribe to has posted a 52 minute video that is from a three day camping and fishing trip, I figure, "Well, my next fifty- two minutes is all set. I know what I am doing." However, most audiences prefer shorter content. When I first started posting content, my videos were 16- 22 minuted long. A friend of mine helped me realize audiences seem to prefer shorter content (people just don't have the attention span to stick with a video). Since then, I have tried to have a target length of 12- 13 minutes for "full length" videos. I have recently been uploading "shorts" on RU-vid and those have really taken off for me..... views are higher, retention is up, subscribers are up, watch time is up. Thanks for asking. I don't mind helping out when asked.
Honestly it could've been burnt to a crisp and still taste delicious! Hot fresh food on the frozen lake is such a treat! I have a lot of videos I think you'll like!
Nice video. I was wondering if that last one was ever going to make it through the ice. 😂 I subbed your channel, looking forward to more videos. Please consider subbing my channel. Mostly bass content, some trout content, and plenty of slips, trips, stumbles and falls as well. youtube.com/@thatsaprettygoodfish6342?si=oDaFO6LtlP3XBUvv
Thanks for the feedback and support! Yeah I should have cut that last catch down a bit more. It was the best Trout fight through the ice for me. I'm checking your channel out and consider me subscribed! Thanks again!
@Montucky_Matt2023 Thanks man! Yeah, that last trout through the ice was a chunk. He had a ton of fight in him. I don't do any ice fishing (too cold for me in Maine), but that looked like a load of fun!
