Hi, I'm in Sydney, and we had the same experience of bonfire night but in June, your video brings back wonderful memories for me.. cheers from Australia.😊
I live in Canada now and miss bonfire night so much, like you I’m just filled with nostalgia when autumn hits, I’ve watched your film about 50 times now and the memories it evokes are wonderful, thank you.
Love this, only just found it. You are right there is something magical about the seasonality of Autumn that still brings out the kid in me too! I fire large displays every year. However as much as I love everything about fireworks today, they don't come close to the sheer wonder and excitement of those British made blue touch fireworks I grow up loving as a kid in the 1970's and 80's. As you mentioned it was the names, the eye catching colourful labels, the smell of the gunpowder..great memories. Thanks you for sharing.
Thanks for taking time out to write a comment, always appreciated. Yes, of course you're right, you can't beat the vintage stuff. The packaging/labels just aren't as good as the old days. That's why my next upload is about me designing a vintage firework label. See you the next time around.
Wow. I can't believe this was made two years ago and has seven likes and no comments. This is a masterpiece. I discovered this wonderful channel through a mutual love of vintage fireworks - but THIS is something else! I love what you do, you and your family seem really lovely. Just keep doing what you're doing - this was impossibly good. Andie x
First of all, thanks for taking time out to leave your comments - which mean a lot. Secondly, I'm chuffed that you've enjoyed some of my content. Feedback like yours does nothing but spur me on to make another video. Enjoy your weekend 😊🧨
You are more than welcome! Keep up the amazing work. I love your channel - it reminds me of mini rockets AND 3-2-1-Zero bangers. And yes, I used to collect the dead ones, too!@@NutsinMay
This video brought back nostalgic memories of my childhood in the '70s, a time filled with joy and laughter. Growing up during that era forged a deep and lasting bond between me and the world of fireworks. Even now, in my later years, the colors, sounds, and smells bring a sense of nostalgia, connecting me to the carefree days of my youth. Thanks for sharing this enjoyable video - it's a delightful journey down memory lane, reminding me of the simple yet profound joys that have stood the test of time.
Brought back memories of my dad and I lighting all those brands of fireworks you mentioned in the playground by our block of flats in the 70’s and early 80’s.
This brings back so many happy memories, seeing the fireworks in the shop, this was the highlight of the year for me, i knew every shop that sold fireworks and bought from many of them, i used to buy nearly the entire range from Standard each year, we always had a huge bonfire in the back garden, nearly everyone did back then, i'm now 63 but still celebrate every year with a good display of at least two hours, sadly all British made fireworks are long gone, all Chinese now and much bigger but still as enjoyable, i had a cake from Ardi this year and very good it was too!
I really enjoyed this, thank you. So many old memories and feelings came back. You got the nostalgia bang on. A week to go, can't wait. Hope you enjoy yours, too x
I’m trying to create tiki torches for an overnight bonfire event, however it’s really hard to get wick in lagos. Also how can I keep the fire burning for about 30 -60 minutes at a time?
I just called a friend who works at a saw mill on the outskirts of town. He says he can get me all the sawdust I’ll ever need and is willing to deliver it ! Great news, because I’m going to make a dry toilet. With the chaos in the World and rising utility prices, along with the threat of a grid collapse, this is my best bet. Thank you for your informative and humorous video. Love, from a dedicated Subscriber from Northern Michigan- USA ☝️🇺🇸.
I agree with you 100%, we are living in very dark times in Our World. Prepare, stay safe, take care and try to be self-sufficient. Love, from Michigan- USA. 🇺🇸
Hi Claudia, thank you for your great comments. Look after you're to, life is tough at the moment and the future doesn't look very bright from here does it. Love from an Englishman bottled in France x
Never could have imagined society captive by a political party so bent on destruction. I have a large wood cooking stove and my goal is to be completely off the grid. Thank you for your inspiration, my friend. There is real “FREEDOM” in Independence and self~sufficiency. ❣️&✌🏻 to you and your loved ones. Northern Michigan, USA. Water is my #1 priority. Also, making a dry toilet, unlimited sawdust ! ☝️
He could have located it closer, lol, not a mile away. I'm building one as soon as the snow melts. The way things are going it will be either that or a stench filled house. Lets see. Every utility getting way more expensive by the day, rivers either drying or becoming sewers, food super expensive. At least that way, you keep the house a lot less stinky, and after a year or two, you can grow more vegetables. lol
Friends and family still think we are stupid to use a composting toilet. "Why not just use a regular toilet?" People also thought we were crazy to build a house of straw. They called us the three little pigs. If you don't look at the future now and start to prepare, it's going to be too late. Our annual heating bill is 300€ a year. Our water bill is 70€ a year. We are fortunate, fortunate that we made the right choices 12 years ago.
Smother it in something, sand is good or soil. Grass cuttings work well or just lay the flamming torch on the ground and throw a lump of cuttings on top of the flame. Be careful though, watch you don't burn yourself.
very ingenious and practical. i searched all around and it is the easiest and is pretty alright looking once a couple of burns to remove the paint. it might not be the most durable, but IRL who will be using this more than a hundred times?
