Trios are the best! You don't need anything more than Guitar, Bass & Drums. Cream, ZZ Top, Motörhead, Rush, Robin Trower Band, Grand Funk (without Keyboards)....

Definitely three amazing musicians. They gave Rush a run for their money. I feel that Triumph was underrated. They kicked some serious ass.

No disrespect to Neil , but Rush needs to have one last tour with Gil on the skins !! I played over a decade with Head East and can say that Gil Moore is the best drummer I have ever witnessed in my life . He’s Canadian and is the only drummer I can think of that could honor Neil, the way he deserves

I was at this concert. Great show! It was actually held at the Towson Center at Towson University, not the Civic Center in Baltimore. When it finally aired, I was disappointed by how much was edited out.

I am so grateful for this post! It was the concert I was supposed to see! I had tickets to see this Triumph show in Corpus Christi, but the band got stuck in Dallas due to bad weather. UFO opened up, but half the crowd went back to get a refund when it was announced that Triumph was not performing. I stayed because I wanted to see UFO, and I'm glad I did. UFO played for over two hours, which was not common; atleast not in CC,TX. UFO put on one of the best shows I have ever seen! The only bummer was that Michael Shinker had already left the band, but the replacement lead guitarist was very good and played the parts perfectly! I was just a few feet away from the left side of the stage and could see clearly that Phil Mogg, UFO singer, was pissed! He was known to have a bad temper, and that he showed without restraint. I guess he was mad because Triumph was a no show and half the crowd got refunded, which means money went out the door. Phil broke every light bulb that Triumph's set had on stage during his entire performance. One by one, Phil would smash every light bulb he could reach with the butt of his microphone stand. I will never forget the look on his face, anger. But, he did sing every song incredibly well. If you listen to the live album, Strangers In The Night, that is what UFO played with a few more songs. That UFO concert remains one of the best shows I've ever seen to this day.

I have been a fan since the 70's. Never got a chance to see them. They are on my list of favorite bands, for sure. Great playing, songwriting, killer vocals from both Rik and Gil. They really are one of the best rock bands ever, in my opinion, anyway. And I loved this band way before I got into Metallica, Slayer, that genre, which I love, to this day. There's one Triumph. They are fukking amazing!

I totally agree,I saw the Rock and Roll Machine tour in a small auditorium in Montreal. One of my first concerts as a kid,the tickets went for $3.50, had the poster for almost 30 years on every wall in my travels.Teaze was the opening band and blew us away but Triumph came on and kicked everybody's ass. They only had two albums out back then so they played their heavier earlier songs,I wore the T-shirts right to rags.

: Luv it 😎👍! Copied it, upcsaled it to 1080p and 5.1 audio and added the chapter markers and song titles too (took some time but it was well worth it). Now it's in my digital library along with A Night Of Triumph, Triumph Live At The US Festival and Triumph Live At Sweden Rock Festival ! Seen every Triumph show in TO from '78 - '88 ! I've also met Rik and especially Mike numerous times !!!

Well this was a nice surprise to stumble upon. I only got to see these guys once in my life back in the fall of '79. Didn't even know they had existed just 24 hours before. Funny story (sort of...) The night before they were playing, I had just gotten off of work at the local restaurant and I went over to a co-workers house for a little late night smoke session. The TV was on in the background and this commercial came on. Lights were flashing, smoke bombs going off, and some killer licks being played. Far out. It got my attention, then the announcer dude says "Tomorrow night at the Mandan Community Center". Well shit, I gotta see this. Made the show, had my brain melted, saw them do Rocky Mountain Way in the closing encore, and I was hooked. Scored the T-shirt, the program, and a poster. Then it got good. I was hanging out watching the teardown when someone came up and said "You gotta leave, unless you want to help teardown". One of the few moments in life where you did not have to ask me twice. I'm 61 now, was 16 then...and I swear I can still here the echo of that room that night. What an amazing 24 hours in the life of a kid I once knew....
