A very comprehensive review, thank you! I'm seriously considering getting this model, my only reluctance is the bezel. Your fingers were slipping as you were turning it, and you know how to grip it. I don't dive, but I do use the bezel to time a number of events during the day. Great review!
Very fair point - with more practice the bezel gets easier (you really have to grip the sides of the case and then turn, whereas other bezels have a coin edge that feels more intuitive). Definitely one of the harder bezels out there to turn, but it also serves a purpose as it is almost impossible to accidentally bump the bezel
True, but better late than never! I think it's such a great watch, it deserves an encore! The white face is always a show-stopper, hope you wear it in good health
Definitely! I see used prices mostly in the mid-$4,000's for good/great condition, but you can definitely find a well-kept example in the high-$3,000's if you get a bit lucky
@@NicolasMiari great first luxury watch choice! I recommend it to most of my friends who want to get into the watch market. Hope you wear it in good health 👍🏻
Thank you! I used to have a 7 3/4 wrist but I just re-measured today and now I'm a 7 1/2. The watch looks perfectly reasonable on both sizes, hope this is helpful and I hope you pick one up soon!
@@WatchesRated thx for the reply, really appreciate it. I too have A 7.5 in wrist, this definitely helps make my choice that much easier. Best regards!
The snowflake hands are controversial, to say the least! I actually warmed up to them after wearing the watch a bit because I realized that the chronograph is almost never running, so the hands are not really in the way of the wearer’s ability to read the time. I think if the sub-dials had primary time-keeping responsibility, then it would definitely be an issue.
I really want this as my first Luxury watch. I’ve had a few sinns in 41mm, but sold them because they looked small on my wrist. For some reason this looks bigger than 41mm I got a 7.5- 8inch wrist depending of Im bulking or not. Do you still think it could work?
It definitely wears bigger than a 41mm - that’s for sure. I have a 7 3/4 wrist and it looks appropriate on my wrist, you should give this a shot next time you visit a Tudor boutique
Seiko is in Japan, COSC is in Switzerland. Shipping the movements back and forth for every batch of watches is time consuming and will hike the price beyond what's reasonable. Also the Swiss are still bitter about Seiko beating them in chronometer competitions, on top of the fact that Seiko and their Quartz crisis almost killed off the entire Swiss watch industry. Let's just say COSC certified Seiko movement will happen the day we have peace on Earth.
That's a great point re: shipment of movements/watches. It would be prohibitively costly to Grand Seiko to send all those movements across the world. And yes, those 5 (or was it 6) years in a row that Seiko won the chronometer competitions are still a bitter pill. I am hoping that Grand Seiko convinces the Japanese equivalent of METAS to provide certifications, but I guess we will have to wait and see!
Thanks for the feedback! I like the point system as it differentiates my methodology from other watch reviewers who only give subjective reviews. However, I'm always looking for feedback and appreciate it.
@@WatchesRated In my mind, trying to differentiate is caring too much about what other people are doing. Make the content you would most like to watch yourself, go with your gut and the success will follow. Good luck for you and your channel!
It would be good if Christopher wards actually ships the watches to the customers. I have been waiting for almost a year an half after placing the order for bel canto and all I get are emails saying watch delivery is delayed.
This may give you a little hope- I ordered mine in January 23 and it has just arrived today so you must be pretty close to your delivery date too. It is worth it, the watch looks even better in your hands than in these videos
It took a while to receive my watch as well (about 8 months) - but the wait was well worth it. I agree that the watch on your wrist exceeds any expectations/photos/videos
I own this exact watch. It’s a terrific watch if you prefer a heavier, large watch. I strongly warn those of you who have wrists below 7.25 inches to shop elsewhere. The primary reason you can find excellent used examples on Chrono 24 is because people with smaller wrists buy one of these and then realize a watch that is close to 200 grams is too much watch for 90% of people. I am just trying to help you from making a costly mistake.
Hey man, great video. I had one of these but reluctantly let it go. Absolutely love the look of it (although would go dateless if I could), but it was just too heavy for me. Really hoping this is on the agenda for Tudor to make a thinner movement to help this one out
The indicator shows whether the hammer is "charged" to hit the gong or not. Sometimes you don't want the chime to go off (during a meeting, at night, etc.), so you can easily click the lower right-hand button and turn off the chime (and see via the indicator on the dial that the hammer is not charged).
That's a tough call - I've always loved the Zenith Chronomaster and appreciate it more as a "grail" piece given the unique architecture of its movement than an everyday Tudor. That being said, I had a special edition Zenith Chronomaster Sport 2 and it spent more time in the shop than on my wrist (I sent it back to zenith and they forgot to put a gear back in after service...), so I am a bit soured on Zeniths at the moment
Hello, just discovered your no nonsense review and really like it. I have this Tudor reverse panda and it is my favorite among a collection of Omegas, GSs and others. This piece brought me to the realization that dual subdials is by far preferable to the more common 3 dials. I have a 7.5 " wrist and it is perfect for my taste. I had a bb 41 heritage and sold it but do miss it. I put this chrono on the heritage leather strap and wear it much more often then the original bracelet but only because I prefer leather and no other reason. Only only one issue, when I purchased it the winding was stiff and recently I could hear the rotor spinning as I wound it so it is in for repairs. Other then that I love everything about this Tudor.
@@WatchesRatedhi Sir just saw your review be chance as I’ve got few Tudor’s in my collection 😊 I’m interested in buying the Panda version but only have them on the black strap my question for you Sir is this one do you know if the OEM stainless steel bracelet from the BB Heritage or the GMT fits into this version? I’m asking this because I do have 2 Heritage the burgundy version plus the GMT all with the steel bracelet as I’ve mentioned can you please tell me if you have had tried an OEM steel bracelet ? As this have same 22 mm lugs plus bracelet doesn’t have the T Fit adjustment as my other Tudor Pro which is shame as it’s much better but that I do know it doesn’t fit on first as it’s 20 mm lug size plus I’ve research on aftermarket bracelets like Forstner if I’m not wrong plus they only sell it in US and I’m in Europe! Would appreciate any opinions if you can ! All the best and very nice review I do like the reverse version I’ve got but already had 2 chronographs all black one Hanhart and a Longines all have ETA Valjoux 7750 the longines has a Column wheel version quite old with 3 sub dials as well but it was a gift from my Mother so i don’t want to sell it it’s a beater rough watch by the way ! Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this cool watch!
@@WatchesRatedby the way about the date change exactly at 00:00 hours shows the movement it’s very well fine tuned my other chronographs do change dates exactly at 00:00 hours as well no COSC certified but very accurate and well done only my Longines needs serviced it’s loosing few seconds per day nothing special at all! All the best
@@69fastfurious Interesting question... I just tried swapping the band between my Black Bay Burgundy and my Chrono Reverse Panda and the stainless steel strap (the version with rivets) fits both watches perfectly! I don't believe older heritage models (inluding the Heritage chrono) would fit, unfortunately. I hope this is helpful!
@@WatchesRated hi Sir, I've been searching for this situation for few months and the Ad says I doesn't off course! What he wants his 800$ for steel bracelet I've bought my in Tudor BB Burgundy it's the 41 mm case and was only available with the leather distressed strap have to buy an OEM steel bracelet for it cost 800€! and now have already order the Panda Chronograph like yours on a bund leather strap us has I've got a Pepsi Tudor GMT on another Steel bracelet gone make swap one of the steel bracelets for the chrono a d install the leather strap on it! If it fits awesome! Thank you for your help! When I've got the watch (hopefully on Wednesday) I'll informe you Sir 💯👍👍 That's great news if it fits has I've got lot of straps but not interested in spending 800$ again us the deal was awesome that's why I bought it on that configuration 👌
Many thanks! Both watches you mentioned are my staple pieces for sure! Have you ever seen the Omega in green by the way? Green is typically not my color (and I love my black Seamaster), but the green ceramic they use is out of this world!

Agreed, they are killing it. I have my eye on their new moonphase watch, but I also want to see what else they have up their sleeves. They mentioned in some interviews that the Bel Canto was just the tip of the iceberg for what they have in the R&D pipeline...
This awesome piece is the watch you wear on a Sunday afternoon sipping on a glass of your favourite poison ready your favourite book and just enjoying the moment to its fullest. It’s my grail watch and I hope to get one someday.
That sounds like the perfect occasion for this watch! I can say truthfully that this is the one "hype watch" of recent memory that is actually worth the hype (and its price tag), I hope you get to add it to your collection soon!
Great review! I ordered this same configuration to add a modern complication dress watch with a light colored dial to my mostly dark dialed collection of sport watches. Expecting mine in September, can’t wait!
Great addition! My watch collection is similarly skewed towards dark-face dials and more sporty cases, so this watch is definitely an outlier in my collection. Hope you enjoy yours when it comes!
That's fair! If I could give 100 points to a watch just for affordability (and more specifically, bang for your buck), this watch would certainly qualify.
It does take a bit to get used to... but after a few days of wearing it my eyes adjusted. In real-life the 3D floating structure does add a bit of contrast against the dial's background as well!
I'd say it mostly presents as an "icy" blue. Out in natural sunlight it has a more blue tint, but under white LEDs (which I used for this video) it does have a more greyish tone. If you check out my instagram, I have some high-quality photos of the watch outdoors and in different lighting that will give you a better idea!
That is a shame! Yes, the wait is VERY long, I think I ended up waiting about 8 months (I bought mine within an hour of them opening up online orders). I will say, this watch was very much worth the wait, and I am the least patient person in the world. I also felt at the 6 month point "do i really need this watch?", and I'm glad I was lazy enough to not go and cancel my order. That being said, I hope you found another great watch to purchase instead, there will always be an opportunity down the road to purchase a Bel Canto (or maybe even its successor)! :)
I have been waiting for over a year for mine to ship. I chose purple with the bracelet. My advice is to get this and and the Twelve while CW is maintaining a modest pricing structure.
