🤣 Yeah, my UPS guy is friend from WAY back to childhood. He was cussing Prime Days pretty bad the other day! LMBO! He was dropping off at our place for several days in a row. Between my truck project and my wife wanting to "freshen up" our house a little bit, he has about had a full time job dropping at our house!

As I start my work day in the body shop, I'm drinking my coffee. when Coach Beard had asked about the water moving pretty fast. I all but spewed coffee all over a freshly painted car. Laughed the whole way through this one.
Me and Natalie have been sitting here laughing our heads off with this story😂. It's the ultimate bad adventure makes a great story trip. Great ending by Woody there too. Quality guys on this trip!
I’ve had people recommend that I ride this and make a video. But I’m just gonna tell you right now… I don’t want to run up on some bear with me on a bike! 😳 And the way you describe the hills… Maybe I’ll just wait another couple of years until after I get an E bike. 😂 Glad you had a good time. 👍
Man, it is a rush to ride it and see a bear up close & personal while on a bike! We are trying to figure out a week this summer that we can go up and ride it. You should just drive up and meet us there. Riding in a group is a lot of fun up there. And my group is especially fun. Constant ribbing and joking!
Thanks, Dan! We just having fun with it. I have to say though that the mics and stuff seem to make it more “official” so the guys are a lot more “reserved and polite” than they typically are. I’m gonna have to find a way to get them to act more natural and cut up more, like we always do. 😂
Great podcast. Maybe someday I can join yall on a Canoe trip cause I sure would like to try Mr. Poe's trip. I bought a 14' Mohawk Canoe in the fall and I've yet to get it on tye water.
Yes, used the cleaner first, followed by the protectant. You can look back at my “Cahaba Lillies” video to see how bad it looked when I first bought it. I actually didn’t realize it had made that much of a difference, until I was watching that video from when I had first bought it.

They just slide in between the bikes and ride there. The only problem that I have found with this is that if you only have one or two bikes, and don’t have them wedged against the back of the seat, they may move around as you drive.
OK, first of all, Roll Tide. 😆🏈... Yeah, that's an interesting trail. The part you did was more of a "nature trail"... where you stopped, if you had crossed the street, the trail picks back up and travels basically on a sidewalk along a city street before reaching Dudley Park where it turns into the Firefly Trail and goes over an old former railroad trestle (popularized on an R.E.M. album cover). Good trail(s)...but really needs better wayfinding signs and markers.
Yeah... I live in Alabama and grew up in a "Bear Bryant" household...I just don't follow football much anymore. Some of the fans (the hate-filled ones) ruined it for me. I was just at UGA to tour their College of Agriculture. A friend that my wife & I graduated high school with is a professor in that program and I am a high school Ag teacher, myself. Man...I wish that I had known that, I would've loved to have crossed that bridge! I may have to go back! We once carried a truckload of my students to track down and find the seventh bridge from the song "Seven Bridges Road." It was written about a road in Montgomery, AL. We found it, drove it, counted the bridges, and took a group selfie with the seventh bridge in the background. The songwriter, Steve Young, said that when he lived there in the late 60s, that you left the Montgomery City Limits, after you crossed that bridge. In all of these years, the City Limits has not changed, and is still in the same place.
@@mountainsmoore3657 Yeah, I grew up in Alabama but moved away in the early 80s, did not go to college there. But my entire family has been lifelong Crimson Tide fans. So whenever I ride a trail in an SEC city, I always wear Bama gear. Like last week I did the Neyland Greenway that passes right next to the Tennessee Volunteers' stadium. I was waiting at an intersection with an Alabama hoodie on...and a Tennessee guy rolled down his window and said, "The light never changes for Alabama fans!" I smiled and gave him a thumbs up. Gotta love the rivalry...
@@joyfultrails Friendly rivalries are great. Unfortunately, I had some in my community and beyond, that took things a bit too far and it slowly just began to ruin it for me. I absolutely love the game of football...played all the way through school, but due to a few fans' behavior, I probably haven't watched a game in 2-3 years. Sad, but true. BTW... I need to talk to you about something...look for a PM on IG in a bit.
Sorry to disappoint! 😂😂😂 But yes, that was a beautiful greenway. And those Trial Gardens are also amazing! I wish that I could do something like that with my Ag kids!

I had found several scattered around the country, but was always a day late or a dollar short! 🤷🏻♂️😂 I finally just kind of gave up and told my wife that if it was meant to be, I would run up on one. One day, while I was teaching school, my phone started blowing up! It was my NC buddies letting me know about this boat that had popped up, down here in Alabama, on Marketplace. Pick her up for $300 because the man’s wife couldn’t put it in the water by herself! I about broke the dude’s arm! We loaded it up and was GONE! I wanted to get outta there before he came to his senses!! 😂😂😂 Thanks for watching and commenting!
$300 that is a really good deal. lol yeah I would have gotten out of there fast also. Yeah I found one in Oregon but I’m in Alabama and was not sure if the owner would have shipped it or even know how and cost to ship a kayak.
@@jitomiller5092 Well, we are about as far apart as we can be, and still both live in Alabama. We are about 20 minutes from Georgia and about 30 minutes from Tennessee. We made a trip down there in about 2018 and set up a base camp at Blakely State Park, then we paddled several areas in the Delta and a section of the Perdido Canoe Trail. It was a fun trip, but I caught a really bad cold on the drive down and was doped up on cold medicine that I never thought to actually film enough to make a video out of it. LOL!
I have a video from a few years ago that shows the “old version”, but Poe has developed a much better one. Poe does sell them occasionally, but I’m not sure if he has any right now. I’ll ask him.
That was a really great ride with good friends. Its nice they shut the roads down to motor vehicles. I've never seen that many bears in one day. Thanks for sharing ✌
Thanks for watching and commenting! Yeah, they started doing that every Wednesday from May-September, a couple of years ago. It is nice. We love to go ride it. I am hoping to get to go a few times this year! We have ridden it several times but have never seen that many bears! And that one big boar that crossed right in front of us was chasing a sow! We had more important things on his mind! 😂😂😂
Great Bear pics!!! Where the heck were all of the cars?? THAT IS AWESOME for them to do that on Wednesdays!! So much different without all of the cars!!! You were able to ZOOM right along on some parts of that road and I am sure that cuts down on a LOT of people visiting too! I am going to have to keep that in mind. In fact now I would probably plan a trip to Cades Cove based on that alone!! Thanks for the ride along!! Jeff
We try to make the trip up a couple of times each year to ride the Loop. It is always a great time, but that is the most bears that we have ever seen! You can hike or bike it without worrying about cars! I want to go hike it some time!

Yes, the van was totaled. The water rose 2 1/2 more feet that night, after a huge wave of storms, with embedded tornadoes rolled through. We were actually out in that mess, trying to get our gear loaded. We called my wife to come get me and take me 75 miles upstream to get my Jeep and kayak trailer. By the time that I got back, the roads were already flooding. It was a MESS. Would’ve made a great YT video, but back then, I was just filming for us to look back on later. 🤷🏻♂️😂
