It might be you are not up to date on VPX and or Pinmame? Check the table description on VPU . It shows which VPX/Vpinmame you should run a s a minimum. Upgrading is not hard. Once you get it, it takes 10 minutes or less.
Love your POV, I don't have the patience to get mine to look that good. I mess with the camera settings for a bit and them am like "OK I am good". But I am definitely not getting the most out of the new VPX 10.8 POV. Nice game you had there BTW.
I always setup my pov with the 3D glasses on. Setting up the right screen dimensions and distances in Video Preferences helps a lot as well as it is set and forget. When I launch a table a first time I hit F12, change the mode to "Window" and push the Launch button. Then usually I only have to raise the apron a bit and done.
Thank you , Sir. It is indeed a great recreation by VPW, it plays really well and I love the vibration feedback. But I can't get my head around the rules yet. I might need one of your nice tutorial videos to really understand the game. :)
@@RastanPinball Yes, that was a good game. Shoot what flashes is always a good thing. Unless everything flashes in different colors at the same time like Guardians of The galaxy :)
Hey, I've been watching your videos and the playfields look so lifelike. Can you provide some details on your machine? Is it a self-build or vendor? Any details about the playfield screen? It looks to be about perfect. Thanks in advance.
I play on a 3 screen cabinet, however for the purpose of the videos I record the 3 screens and overlay them on a digital image of a Stern machine. Apologies if that fooled you . Here is an image of my Vpin cabinet (if RU-vid allows such a link): imgur.com/a/23MeSR2 To answer your question. It is generally accepted that the best playfield screens are the 120 Hz LG C2/C3/C4 Oled TV's (42" or 48"). But they are very expensive. In the range of large monitors: The 43" Asus OLED monitor 144 Hz, also very expensive. In the "cheaper" range, IPS panels are good as they have rather good color/contrast and angles. For a full size machine 4k is a must and if possible higher than 60 Hz.
Does anyone know how close this is to the original Stern table, in as far as rules and features etc? I have always wondered how much the Tribute" VPX creations differ/compromise from the official pin?
The VPW team had Scott Danesi (the IRL table designer) give input and even assets when they were developing the virtual version. I remember a lot of time was spent on getting the ball save timings right, which seems crucial. It plays so well! I always come back to playing it even though I think I never got more than 2 reactors :)
@@bietekwiet2812 Yeah I remember that as well. So cool he would help out and I think he even provided the videos for the PUP if I am not mistaken. Now I want to play it haha.
It took over 20 years, but I am absolutely amazed at how far this hobby has come. Visual Pinball tables are now so realistic with the lighting effects, the high-res assets, physics algorithms that are the best of the business, except there's no business. This is all done by hobbyists in their spare time and shared for free for all to enjoy. Really pretty amazing. Thank God for open source.
I am loving it. At first glance I thought it was 'easy' but then I realised this game is about the progress through the modes. The long journey is part of the appeal. And the advantage is that unexperienced players can also have a good time as they will be able to reach a multiball or tick off one of the modes. Very nice.
If you like to see how far some people can take Vpin building have a look at the RU-vid channel of Olivier Servais. He is French and he makes fantastic cabinets.
I kinda like the layout and such, but being clearly a reskin oj jp's deadpool makes me step back... Now I only wish jp's deadpool had nfozzy's physics... or even better: a new Deadpool table with a video dmd like Stern's ❤
tried it already, pretty good for an original table, esp. the callouts! And it flows very well. But I just found that fox so out of place, maybe it doesn't align with the table angle, and the color and texture of the fox don't fit the playfield, looks like cut and paste in at the last minute.
@@Dadedrums no, not really :).While I do record straight from my cabinet (3 screens) I do some OBS Studio magic to overlay the output of the screens on an image of a cabinet in a pinball room. Call it my literal "virtual" pinball room :). Ps: good to see you here 👍
I am not sure (but my guess is that it is resolved). I do know VPW did extensive testing for the table update including by some really good players (PrimeTime5k etc). But a bug is always possible .
I am tempted to grab this update BUT I don't have vpx 10.8 or that updated vpinmame or whatever you need to make colored dmd roms (I really like them). I've been affraid that updating would ruin all the work I did organizing my other tables and in popper. Does updating hurt anything?
@@WIDERisBETTER As someone famous once said : "Just DO it!". There are so many advantages. Without it I would not be able to play in anaglyph 3D, which I use all the time besides recording. A great video tutorial on how to update all components linked below. If you can follow a recipe, you can do this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uE3uayzA5_s.html You got this!
@@dannygg7555 check the script in VPX. At the top section, where it says "cgname" , the Rom used is shown. It needs to be mtl_180h .zip. it might be the case that you are using the older 170h version. I suggest upgrading to the mtl _180h (not mtl_180hc) as that will work well with the .Pac color rom file (link to color file in description)
@bietekwiet2812 I have the mtl_180hc rom but missing the mtl_180h. I changed it script to the mtl_180hc. Opens table now but it's all stuffed up and not right. Wonder why I don't have the mtl_180h rom by it self. Other versions of this table have worked great
@@jhoff80 Thanks for the comment. The .Pac color file is amazing. Give the author on VPU a good review if you like it. They don't get enough love in my opinion and it is quite a big job to color those dots frame by frame.
