I have a RANS Tailwind with 3 x 8 and only use the two smallest rear cogs and the biggest chainring (no hills to deal with). I think that it's time to simplify my set-up to a 1 x 8.

Screw bafang... I ordered their bbshd... unfortunately to start off with... I ordered the wrong size mtor... so I had to exchange it... so what did they do... give me all kinds of crap about the tiniest scuff on the motor... and charged me through the nose.... and then sent me A USED BEAT UP MOTOR WITH NO COVER ON THE WIRING... INSTEAD IT WAS WRAPPED IN ELECTRICAL TAPE... then when I complained about them sending me a used motor... the douche bag customer service prick ALEX... decides he's going to put me on the do not respond list because IM SUCH A PROBLEM... so help spread the word what a bunch of conartists this company is... I paid over 1500 for a used beat up motor... and half a kit... I still had to buy a shift sensor... cable extensions because what comes with the kit isn't designed for MAN sized bikes... what a joke..

Thanks for the review, i really appreciate the information. I’m currently in the market for a new e bike and this model is very interesting. With that said, all the reviews and including yours have suggested that ride isn’t comfortable due to the factory (seat) shock. In your experitise what are the specifications for a replacement for the seat shock adsorber? What type of seat shock(s) would you suggest? (Coil? Air shock?) I would like to purchase the correct size and preferred brand. Big thanks in advance!

New ones now are $500 on Amazon, 500w motor and 600w battery. Just put mine together. Have to pay freight, so it winds up being a little more than $500. Still a good buy. My other "cheap" ebike is a Rad Mission. It is 500w also, may be a little more powerful? Have to inflate the tires, makes all the difference in rolling resistance.

They can still improve the delay when shifting from pedal assist. Bukod dun everything I think is great about that bike.

For $600, both ebikes i got cost just under $500 for the whole new bike, these conversion kits need to come down to like $300 for a decent one and then everyone would go for it. Till then $500 gets you a whole new ni e ebike

What that bike needs is a 60 volt or 72 volt triangle battery. It would fit nicely into that frame. Also a good controller to go with the battery.

My husband got one a couple weeks ago and now the it won't go. The vattery shows it's fully charged. He says he doesn't have pedal assist on. So next thung we are trying to do is look at the fuse. But he's already fed up as it's new and it's now not working properly. He is going to return it. He may replace it or just wipe his hands if it as he always seems to have bad luck with electronics.

Thats what i have been using, nothing ghetto about it. Cheap and it works. Stans tape is packing tape, its not bicycle specific. very same tape used on a new washer and dryer i bought. Only issiue with gorilla, is having to clean up the residue if you want retape.
