Hey- I'm Mark. My background in a nutshell is Aviation Maintenance as a mechanic on mostly helicopters, and some airplanes. Naturally my whole life i have been fixing, maintaining, modifying, and repairing various things. I want to start this channel to share with the world in one way or another many of the ways I go about making decisions regarding maintenance, and pursuing life- which is the other half of it. I love being outdoors. You wont find me indoors often, my spirit belongs outside.
With that I hope you join me and subscribe. I intend to work on making fun valuable videos, extending into my life fly fishing, hiking, and exploring places along the way.
Did I mention I love a great cup of coffee?
I have found that living is to never stop learning, embrace opportunities, believe in yourself, and keep trying until... (Simpler said than done)
This video helped a lot. Those plugs were so stuck in there. I think the Forester never had the rear differential serviced in 150k miles, so I decided to do it myself. Some of the hardest plugs I’ve had to break loose. Breaker bar really had to get wailed on hard to break them loose.
Throttle is very easy to take off and it's a good idea to get a new gasket for it which replaces that screen because that gets super dirty and caked up too.
The RU-vid gods delivered this video to me today, and I am super glad for it! I’ve been wanting to do exactly what you’ve done on your ceiling - a layer in between and a layer on top to stop thermal bridging - but I haven’t seen anyone else do it like that. You’re the first person! So I super appreciated this video. Thanks for sharing 🙏 PS I’m so glad you mentioned the white styrofoam making a mess! That’s the kind of thing that would ABSOLUTELY DRIVE ME NUTS, and so I appreciate the head’s up. I’ll pass that option on by!

great job.....if you knew the thread size of the fill port you could buy a barb fitting and fill it with the 3/8" tube by gravity......like you I see no point adding 5 quarts of new oil to 8 quarts of dirty oil.
Still holding up great! Just rotated them, probably have another year before they are worn out. They have done well in the snow and off road too. The rubber is starting to fade but that's it!
@@MTsubfly Her stock tires lasted 4 years / 38k miles. She may lose 1mpg, but living near Chicago we need good tires for winter too, and her stock tires were not very good. These have provided a great ride in the summer, can't wait to try them in winter. How many miles did you put on them?
Could you fill the transmission fluid through the line line in from the cooler? Or can it only be filled from the fill hole..? I understand the whole point of the fill hole is to make sure you put the right amount in, but if everything is measured it should be fine
Ok i have a question - has anyone tried, or would it even work - tried spraying the pink stuff with some glue then use that extra thick home food foil on it, both sides?, it appears to come wide enough for the wall sheets and now you would have 2 sided foil sheets before putting the wood walls back up? Of course shiny side out… or is this just not going to work at all?
I’m looking at a 2015 outback wagon never had a flush as far as I know when the transmission warms up it has what they call micro slips where it hesitates for a brief second I’m wondering if flushing the transmission would fix
