Can nobody hear how badly out of tune they are with eachother? This would be great, but I can't with that out of tune shit! And it's crazy, because I'm pretty sure it's Mclaughlins guitar, you'd think he'd have tuned up before hand or in between tracks. It sounds really bad.
Vivió en el Caribe Mexicanos, le gustaba Snorkelear y pescar , se hacían unas mariscadas en su casa , y las tardes eran de buen café, buenas charlas y mucha música y risas . Buenos Tiempos.
I appreciate(d) both the spiritual and musical depth of Mahavishnu Orchestra in all it's variations. If someone tries to sincerely interpret eternity through music, I'll listen! Yes, Billy was quite the exceptional drummer, and ideal in his role as Lord Vishnu's drummer!
I WAS A TINY TINY LITTLE KID WHEN I GOT HOOKED ON UNCLE~MR.AL DI MEOLA AND UNCLE~MR.MICHAEL SCHENKER..I USED TO PRAY AT NIGHT WHILE LAYING IN BED..I USED BEG GOD TO LET ME BE ABLE TO PLAY LIKE UNCLE~MR.AL DI MEOLA....WELL..I AM STILL LEARNING GUITAR.....I STILL BELIEVE HEAVILY IN GOD..AND UNCLE~MR.AL DI MEOLA...
So good to be reminded that Jan once played real keys/ synth, probing, investigating, pushing like Paul Bley at the same period. Sadly like many great pianists, he degenerated to playing the ironing board and bullshit followed.
Never listened to Mr. Dimeola even though I've been hearing about him my whole life. He is very clean and precise, and imo more interesting than Zappa, so far, only my 2nd song into his repertoire, 1st being Chasin' the Voodoo. I love a lot of Zappa's stuff but it does get boring. Peace!
I also did a piece of my own callef Impressions Of India on my first recording.. the Shakti influence has never become silent in my playing..thanks John.
I was lucky enough to be Working at a record store..snd the rep for mahavishnu gave me a Gibson poster of John in Full profile with the Gibson double neck. That Was in the Birds of Fire days and that photo is the back of the album. Still have it.😊
Was at this show when Al came through Denver back in 78. Was blown away by the drummer, Chuck Burgi, who nailed all of of Lenny White's parts on this album as well as Steve Gadd's - an incredibly hard task. Turns out that Chuck here, is a native of New Jersey just like Al. As well, he has been Billy Joel's drummer since 2011. He just killed it at this show in Denver as well.
