if we are being honest, its probably the best of the big 3 animewise and 2nd best mangawise hyped, well animated and choreographed fights stellar villains: ulquiora, aizen, ywach, tsukishim and ginjo interesting themes well done subtle character writing best character designs well developed side characters
Some filler arcs are honestly as good if not sometimes better than the main story. It's just really good. Yamamoto couldn't do much in the fight vs Aizen after nerfing his Zanpakutõ. And even if he could use his Zanpakutõ, he can't use Ban-Kai for obvious reasons, everything would have burned to ashes in the world of the living.
Kubo is a very talented mangaka in both writing and especially his art. But it's quite unfortunate that among the big 3 it was bleach that was marketed less and suffered alot of serialisation issues, if kubo was in his best condition at the time and wasn't forced to rush the story the manga would've had a more in depth lore and plot, you can tell that bleach was meant to be way more if you read the Can't fear your own World novels. Edit: And also alot anime and mangaka have started to follow this blueprint that kubo created, the style, the plot between monsters and a secret organisation, sword fights with unique abilities...etc
The story may be simple and bland (like what people say which is no true) but what is catchy is the villains, designs and osts, dynamics, themes and backstories is the main reason why i like Bleach ts is right next to DB/Z both of those have lots of similarities i think it's the best in the Big 3 since it's more mature
Here's an unpopular opinion: "BLEACH filler arcs aren't necessarily bad." The main problem with these filler arcs is that unfortunately, all of them, without exception, were introduced in the MIDDLE of freaking canon arc. And this pissed off the entire BLEACH fanbase, rightfully so.
Lieutenants aren't always the 2nd strongest in their squad and their enemies are simply way stronger, even their fraccions. Yamamoto was never meant to be the one who would defeat Aizen, he did a pretty good amount despite the fact that he's ideally the last line of defense here. He trapped Aizen, Gin, and Tousen behind a wall of flames to keep them out of the fight and he saved the lieutenants from ayon. He also destroys wonderweiss with his bare hands after his flames get sealed, saves the captains from his own power and sacrifices him arm for a powerful kido spell that gave Ichigo the opportunity to attack Aizen. Yamamoto's actual big moment is in the thousand year blood war arc.
