I remember going to Gladesville Hospital to watch the team play, I sold the chips and drinks. My dad was John Gibbons, I remember quite a few of the players. I also remember the first clubhouse, which was a building across the road from I guess when they played at Ryde. It was a basic building where we sold pies and beer. I wonder if anyone else remembers where this was, or has any photos. It may have been the mid to late 60s.
Pointless exercise unless tuition on how to avoid obstructing an opponent while carrying it out is included i.e. distance from opponent , timing and the need for lateral movement to put and keep the ball, at all times, beyond the playing reach of the opponent/s being eluded. Simply imposing the body between an opponent and the ball to shield the ball and prevent a tackle attempt is a foul.
Why would a slap be better than the hit on the move? Surely if you train all your players to efficiently hit on the move(hit& receive) it is superior to the slap which requires more time(bending &getting low etc) ?
I saw a familiar variation on this one... olympian reckons this skill(&fine variations) are 80% of their elimnations during games... any thoughts on that?

i always learned in the netherlands from my trainers that i should not turn my body but only my head to follow the ball, becouse if you turn your body its higher chance of steppen backwards witch you dont want, and also for the smaller keeps it might be easier to stop the earials is with the stick couse they might not reach the corner. great video just fun to see how everyone learns it different and adapts it so its the best for them
The example guy’s feet are completely not where the coach said to be. He starts with his front foot beside the ball, puts his back foot well past the ball and then stretching his front leg out to plant.
Coaching players to carry the ball behind their left shoulder with the ball to the left of the body in order to use the body to shield the ball is coaching players to breach the Obstruction Rule.
Emoji _ well your stick is supposed to stand right by your hip. Also your left hand should be placed on the top of the stick and held tight=t. Your right hand is low and is held looser to have more control. Hope that helped
HI sir i am muhammad ilyas from swat pakistan i am a hockey goal kepper i like your academy Sir are you give me admission on your academy please dir reply me
So if i get this right... you'd rather poke at the ball in your own circle than channel the ball to the sides where the angle is worse and your keeper can just come out?
Sometimes you have no option but accept the challenge. Especially when a forward decides to run straight at you in one on one situations. You cant channel a forward who knows if he gets past you, the goal will be at his mercy.
