Before 1984, no one had ever seen or heard of the “R-dot”-though they probably should have. At that time Rusty Preisendorfer was shaping surfboards under the Canyon label for 10 of the top 16 surfers in the world, including Occy and Shaun Tomson. Creating the simple yet powerful R-dot didn’t cross his mind until one of his riders, former world champion Peter Townend, suggested he develop his own, independent label. Every other sought-after shaper in the world had a logo, so Rusty figured PT had a point. And the rest, shall we say, is history.
Today the signature R-dot is one of the most powerful surfing insignias recognized around the world. Rusty International has become an icon in contemporary surf culture. Despite its size, however, Rusty is a brand that is incredibly grassroots-one that is adamant in reminding everyone that its heart and soul lies firmly in the custom, hand-shaped surfboard.
Poser? Rusty its one of the real surf brands ever!… shaping the surf world!…Since 1985, Rusty Preisendorfer and his team of skilled shapers strive to refine the Rusty shapes and designs to the highest level of quality and performance... nice choice of surf spots tho. 🌊🙏🏽🤙🏽
@@memogonzalez1617 bro I’m born and raised in San Diego grew up in La Jolla where the Rusty shop is. In San Diego it’s a poser board. Bissell is the legit SD company
I’d like to see that with 5 interchangeable fins to dial it in. Either way that’s a nice looking board as always from you guys. Had my first board from you guys I. The early 2000’s and my mother sold it, to this day that was the best board I’ve ever owned and I troll the web every once in awhile looking for my 6’4” c5 shaped by Rusty himself.
Bigger dude than usual. I just wish you ditched the cord show the groms they need to start learning how to swim and pack on some pounds. Team Commerce Avenue🤙🏼
cool. some of the sleekest blades in surfing history :) (even though i am personally averse to anything shorter than 6'2" (unless a foam 6'0", conceptually, and prefer 6'2" to especially 6'6"). but i very much like the thicker board (as opposed to thinner. im a 2 and 3/4 type person), not afraid of volume, especially with a good shape with sleek maneuverable lines, and exceptional rocker :) its good to see rusty boards still alive and well :)
Such a fun punchy lil point break. Another 2-3 ft bigger and it would be perfection. Im super impressed by the performance shortboard and hybrids Not rusty has come out with over the last few years. I used to ride a lot of their boards back in the mid to late 90's due to meeting Pat O'Connell. One of the most down to earth men on the planet. I bought a 6'0 "What" in February of this year. Im going to purchase an SD probably around the same time in 2024 and by March at the latest. Want to get it before we get into the thick of spring swell here in the OBX. 🤙 Keep up the good work Rusty.
Let's show this board with some compelling styley surfing. In contrast, heck, there's footage from the 1980's which is way more compelling,… even Shawn Barron, 1989: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o9CRKAdNYS0.html Seriously. Let's get back to blazing fun. Wade and Letty are showing that on The Blade.
