New Movie Reactions every weekend and midweek Music Reactions!
I'm Dino and this is my channel Missed Flicks. I thought as a Gen X kid I had seen a lot of movies, but I haven't seen them all! I hope you enjoy these little journeys with me as I watch new films, TV, music and more!
R.I.P Ann Waychoff mother of the Nightwish Army. June 28th, 2020 . Ann was a big Nightwish Fan. And every new person who listened to NW, she went through a little chat. And gave them some info about NW. This was her favorite song. And this song belongs to her. I like very much that Gabriel have continue Ann s work.... so her heritage is still here.
@@MissedFlicks I'm sure somewhere in your comments, you received a comment from Gabriel Bardac. On his community page there you'll find all the best links to video's that are not infused with BS from people that are not a fan of NW, but just want to get their views on YT.
Nice reaction and very good song as every song in this concert. Where did you find this video though? I have not seen this in ages. It's some fan made video which i don't understand. Nightwish has nothing to do with that movie, so those movie clips does not belong there at all 😁 Song is still great though. Gabriel's page has list of songs that are good quality, he has collected those over time. You find good versions from there 😃www.youtube.com/@gabriel.bardac/community Greetings from Finland! 🤘🎶 🖤 🎸🇫🇮
This song forever reminds us at Ann Carone Diamond Waychoff. Well known as the Mother of the Nightwish Army. She sadly left us at June 28, 2020. It was her favorite song. Rest in peace dear Ann, we will never forget You. And Thank You Gabriel Bardac for carrying on the flame that Ann ignited. Nightwish Army South Germany.
It’s a pity that you reacted to a compilation video. Compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. You are not reacting to BABYMETAL, you are reacting to a highlight reel of BABYMETAL. For all the good it did you, you may as well have listened to the song on Spotify while staring a BABYMETAL poster. By the bye, there is no BABYMETAL "rabbit hole" - it's the BABYMETAL foxhole.
@@MissedFlicks Evidently it doesn't take much to get you "passionate". Probably a good thing that didn't a REAL video of this song: you'd have to change your shorts.
This song is a tribute to the poem in 52 chapters, One for every week of the year, " Song of myself " by Walt Whitman 1819-1892.(one of the co-founders of US poetry). The 7th line of the song is ""Of mermaids, of Whitman's and the Ride""". The extended official studio version of this song has, at the end, a poem as a tribute to Whitman and his style made by Tuomas, the keyboard player and the mastermind of nightwish. These lines you can also see fast flahing on the ledscreen of the video you just saw. Bucle up, it goes very deep. " I see a slow, simple youngster by a busy street With a begging bowl in his shaking hand Trying to smile but hurting infinitely Nobody notices I do, but walk by An old man gets naked and kisses a model-doll in his attic It's half-light and he's in tears When he finally comes his eyes are cascading I see a beaten dog in a pungent alley He tries to bite me All pride has left his wild drooling eyes I wish I had my leg to spare A mother visits her son, Smiles to him through the bars She's never loved him more An obese girl enters an elevator with me All dressed up fancy A green butterfly on her neck Terribly sweet perfume deafens me She's going to dinner alone That makes her even more beautiful I see a model's face on a brick wall A statue of porcelain perfection beside a violent city kill A city that worships flesh The first thing I ever heard Was a wandering man telling his story It was you, the grass under my bare feet The campfire in the dead of the night The heavenly black of sky and sea It was us Roaming the rainy roads Combing the gilded beaches Waking up to a new gallery of wonders every morn Bathing in places no-one's seen before Shipwrecked on some matt-painted island Clad in nothing but the surf Beauty's finest robe Beyond all mortality we are Swinging in the breath of nature In early air of the dawn of life A sight to silence the heavens I want to travel where life travels Following its permanent lead Where the air tastes like snow music Where grass smells like fresh-born Eden I would pass no man, no stranger, no tragedy or rapture I would bathe in a world of sensation Love, Goodness, and Simplicity (While violated and imprisoned by technology) The thought of my family's graves was the only moment I used to experience true love That love remains infinite As I'll never be the man my father is How can you "just be yourself" When you don't know who you are? Stop saying "I know how you feel" How could anyone know how another feels? Who am I to judge a priest, beggar, whore, politician, wrongdoer? I am, you are, all of them already Dear child, stop working, go play Forget every rule There's no fear in a dream "Is there a village inside this snowflake?" A child asked me "What's the color of our lullaby?" I've never been so close to truth as then I touched its silver lining Death is the winner in any war Nothing noble in dying for your religion For your country For ideology, for faith For another man, yes Paper is dead without words Ink idle without a poem All the world dead without stories Without love and disarming beauty Careless realism costs souls Ever seen the Lord smile? All the care for the world made Beautiful a sad man? Why do we still carry a device of torture around our necks? Oh, how rotten your pre-apocalypse is All you bible-black fools living over nightmare ground I see all those empty cradles and wonder If man will ever change I, too, wish to be a decent manboy But all I am Is smoke and mirrors Still given everything, may I be deservin And there forever remains That change from G to E minor. "
Good reaction. 'Catch Me If You Can' is the best metal song about playing a game that's a sort of cross between tag, blind man's bluff and hide & seek I've ever heard. It is the perfect mix of the two extremes with the brutal instrumentals and the sweet vocals - and the game they are playing, they're playing with an Oni👹 (a sort of Japanese ogre popular in regional festivals and used specifically to frighten children ... and the idea of that probably amuses me a lot more than it really should 😁). The growling vocals (they are on a backing track) are the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃♀🏃♀🏃♀👹 I have to agree with road_runner about this particular compilation video - the audio is from the Budokan Black Night performance which is on YT and safe to use showing which of the Kami Band are really playing those solos for a start. The Legend 1997 performance is safe to use as well and that one is great fun as you just get the girls hyping up the crowd for the first 2 minutes before they even start the song.
It's one of many ways cultures try to scare children in behaving, it's like some universal truth, a quote from something I've not checked, but I know of similar stories for similar holidays: "In the olden days, Santa Claus would gather up naughty children, toss them in his basket and whisk them away to the North Pole to serve as his slaves. Thats where the legend of Santas elves came from. "
One of the worst live compilation out there and with crazy amount of views deceiving reactors. Don't miss out the live at Budokan 2014 original live clip with the Kami Band intro.
I think this is the song that sums up kawaii metal the most. doki doki morning is more kawaii and gimmie chocolate is more heavy (and both are more famous), but this right inbetween. I like this song more than any other kawaii song (apart from awadama fever). Shame they don't play it anymore. I guess the choreography wouldn't work now with Momo being as tall as Su. (Moa is still just as smoll though)
Oh, no! That compilation again no! It's probably the worst compilation video ever made and here is why: First, it butchers the whole intro and specially the first guitar solo, showing Mikio Fujioka instead of the actual guitarist you are hearing: Takayoshi Ohmura. I consider this very disrespectful. Next: continuity. Since it's from several shows, continuity of the sequences is in jeopardy with continuous changes: venues, stages, costumes, musicians, etc. An then, the capital sin: fan cam footage. Very against it. It's a whole new level regarding disrespect: to the band while performing, to oneself for not being really "present" on the live experience and to the viewers once they put it online. I suggest you to watch the real thing: "Catch me if you can" (Live at Budokan Black Night): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YiAJeKgufMk.html
NIce reaction. I too like the occasional compilation video. It's fantastic to see how consistent their performances are. Each one different and unique yet always to the same level of perfection. Glad you reacted to this one.
Not only do they make fun video's, they are so much fun live. No other band touches their performance right now. When you leave a Hanabie. concert you leave with a smile.
The "eh" syllable doesn't need a pause in front of it. The syllables all slide into each other as one word. I love this video: I think it may be my favourite. The song is great too - one of their most singalong choruses, lol.
Yeah it's just them. By the way after the 3rd song in the loose trilogy, "Be The Gal", the song "Girl's Talk" is kind of also loosely the 4th. They are all reasonably weakly related though. Also, if you want another Japanese band with a similar feel to Hanabie, it's below. This one is women fronted with male musicians, but is kinda similar to Hanabie in intensity and fun. Welcome to Nightwish Symphonic Metal. Tuomas (keyboard) is the mastermind behind the music. He is both a poet and a great storyteller. Try this song next time. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v2ueZgZvfXA.htmlsi=dn6tTT-eoEU2Xkzd
Both Tarja and Floor are amazing operatic style singers that opened the door for singers like Amy Lee in the metal world. Not only are the vocals are on point, but nightwish as a band are so crisp and on point with the music, its almost impossible to pick out flaws or extra/wrong notes in any of the live performances ive seen.
The funny thing is At one point there were so many members (in AKB48 and japanese sister groups) that even the members didn't know everyone. A variety show (I think it was AKBingo, pretty much a comedy reality + talk show) put in a fake member who asked the general manager at the time (Takahashi Minami, nickname Takamina) for advice and all, and Takamina did not realize she wasn't an actual member and gave her genuine and heartfelt advice. It was really cute but also really funny
Easy Rider man......always loved it. My best buddy and I rode our choppers to grab a cold one for Dennis the day he passed. Watching the making of it will give you even more of an appreciation for this movie. I'm not old enough to have seen it in the theater when it came out, but I can imagine the stillness in the air at the end during the panning out helicopter shot......and no one even moving or talking for a full minute. One of the most breathtaking endings ever.
My favorite Dennis Hooper character was Feck from Rivers Edge. If you haven’t seen that flick I highly recommend it. It’s an oldie but a goodie. And yeah man, that ending was a trip!

Nightwish Army USA, (Pa) division looking forward to more , If I may suggest there song "Bless the Child" from the same show Wacken 2013 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AsLKC_AUcKE.html&pp=ygUlYmxlc3MgdGhlIGNoaWxkIG5pZ2h0d2lzaCB3YWNrZW4gMjAxMw%3D%3D
Great to see you continuing with Nightwish reactions. You really do have a lot to look forward to. The genius of Tuomas was writing a song to suit Annette’s more pop style (she was the singer at the time), the genius of Floor was taking the song and making it her own. And as for the ending, Floor really turned on the power.
🪖Nightwish Army Canada🪖 thanks you for my daily feed! Subscribed so I can get my Floorgasms watching Nightwish with you! This is a deep rabbit hole son gonna be a trip!🎸🎵
Loved your reaction! I always adore the breakdown or C - part of every Nightwish song. Often they're quite heavy, what I love! But for us europeans there's no association to music at football games and Wrestling matches😊. My favourites are Weak fantasy live at Tampere and Tribal official live.
