I love playing Trailmakers! I build a variety of things, but enjoy doing cargo builds and campaigns the most. I like to reset Stranded in Space and walk in a random direction using whatever I find to get by for a challenge.
@@thepenguin9807 Yeah, the tail dragging or the pontoons catching a wave and nose diving in to the water. I've tried a few things that worked well for me. This one just has so much thrust, you just need to point the nose up and it'll follow. For my Fire Boss plane, I hid gimbals in the wings that would only run close to the water to help get a boost. It's fun to try to tackle the problems in different ways.👍
Thanks! I think I’ve run out of interesting ways to move crates. I started making a space freighter 3 times but kept falling asleep. Lol. I just can’t get in to the space map.
Thanks! It was a happy accident. I had mostly finished the build and needed to find somewhere to stick guns without getting in the way. I was super pleased with the look once I had the circle decal in place.
the fact that it can move around and take off in the water is SO COOL. Also what's the top speed? im sure the turbine and large prop combo is very powerful but it is also a very large plane.
Thanks for saying that! It tops out at about 375kph. I spent a bit of time and build budget on the inside fixing up the aerodynamics. The nice thing about the propellers is that you can spin them backwards, so as long as the sea plane is stable you can back up hard and it'll point the nose up, then full throttle to shoot straight up.👍
It’s such a neat idea for loading a truck! I came across the real one on line and had to try and make one. I’m always flipping containers over on accident when building things so this was perfect to roll them back over. It was a bit tough keeping the controls limited to the buttons on the controller but worked out great. Thanks!
It’s one of my favorites! The door opens and interior is detailed too. I made it a really long time ago, but it stays in my quick launch to this day. It’s super useful to get stuff moved around. 👍🏼
Just aesthetics. I know someone made a rig that can trick things not to lock on but it was a bit wonky to use. Outside of the airborne enemies, I don’t dogfight much. Thanks!
Thanks! I've made a few other planes since this one, but still like to take it for a spin. I usually rely on powered tail fins for ailerons to get maneuverability, but since there was no tail on this one, I used 2 gyros.👍
You should! There aren't a lot of cargo builders out there to gain inspiration from. I was really pleased with how small I was able to shrink the stabilization components down using the space parts. It left me a lot of budget to build big!
Cool idea! I remember seeing Scrapman make a bridge across the Danger Zone ramps a long time ago. Trying to think of a practical spot to put one in the game, the only one I came up with was the gap entering the docks in High Seas. That would be a pretty cool build!
Love how you always come up with an insane designs maybe you should make a circuit that makes plane take off and fly in straight line, that way you can stage a cinematic bomber squadron scene
Thanks! I saw someone uploaded an auto pilot module they made to the gallery and it had me thinking about that. I don't know if it's just me or it's Trailmakers, but the new cinematic view shows the build mode view of things, not after the glitches kick in to make the shape, so it looks odd.
1_Love the landing gear 2_It's a bit more chunky, maybe try looking at a 3d model but overall looks good 3_iirc you can put decals with the same color of the plane on the bomb dispenser to hide the green lights on it
Hello! I'm playing on XBox, so it's a constant battle with the build budget. I had to delete large portions and re-build 3 times to keep in budget. I try to avoid naming them after real planes, because I'd go mad trying to make things exactly the same within the 700 build limit. I chose to not decal the bombs, since they tend to have this weird static looking shimmer when you paint them. Same goes with decals on neon lights. It shows really badly whenever there's a shadow. It was a fun build with lots of challenges and I'll probably tackle another swing wing in the future. Thanks for your comment! 👍
Thanks! I wanted to make it more like the original, but I ran out of build budget way early in the process, so made a lot of compromises. It works really well for such a huge jet.
Thanks! Makes me think of a penguin. lol I had never made variable wings before, because I thought it made no difference, but it really does! When they are open, it will fly with the nose slightly up in a straight line indefinitely, and when folded in the nose tips down slightly and the speed picks up. It can change directions faster than most of my other jets too.
@@BusyTrailmakers I can't remember the name at the moment, but it showed up one row above mine, so it was quick! They didn't bother to change the description, so my name still shows up when people view it at least. 🤷
Hello! I had originally been saving this build for the large fins, but they didn't provide enough drag, so went back to hand built ones. It was a real bummer, since I really could have used more blocks to improve things. I'll probably do another stabilized crane at some point, since my old one was before gyros and those cool truss blocks existed. Thanks!
Thanks! I did one tutorial on decals a while back, but it didn't really take off. I still might do others if inspiration takes me there. Thanks again for the like and comment!
