This is a really helpful video, thanks! I love makita tools but their instruction manuals are awful. Just bought this tool and your video is making my life a lot easier!
Hi Sir, are you sure about the time (6:30) that you have mentioned? I guess your thought was 4:30. anyway at the 4:30 mark in the video timeline, I was utilizing the rack and pinion method to move the fence. hopefully that's why my hand was not visible. If you want to get more information regarding this table saw, please watch my unboxing video of the table saw. here is the link for your convenience. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TPvv-ZjcUb4.html thank you for your great comment.
I don't have CMT blades, but as far as I know, you can install CMT blades. However, the issue lies with the inner hole diameter, which should be 30mm for compatibility with this machine, not 25.4mm. If you have a blade with 25.4mm inner hole, one option is to use a blade bush (steel ring) to reduce it to 16mm. It's worth nothing that using these bushes is not recommended by either the machine manufacturer or blade manufacturer due to safety concerns.
Overkill much? 1. Just slide it into the slot to undo the screw with thread lock. 2. Use a cotton swab + isopropyl alcohol to degrease the sides. 3. Use PTFE tape on one side. Cut the excess off with a blade. 4. Use the cut off part of the tape on the other side - cut the excess off... 5. Rub the tape with a dry cotton swab to ensure good adhesion. 6. Done. Less than 5 minutes total. No SketchIp skills, massive vise, drill press or fancy screws required...
Before upgrading, it's essential to observe the hardware settings in your laptop, even if the model number matches. Different configurations may exist depending on factors like the market, price etc. For instance, in this laptop, there are three slots for hard drives: (Non-RTX 3060 models:) One 2.5" drive slot, supports 2.5" HDD (up to 1TB). One M.2 2242 PCIe Gen 3x4 slot, accommodating M.2 2242 SSDs (only a small size of SSD (22mmx42mm) can be installed up to 512GB). One M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 3x2 slot, supporting M.2 2242/2280 SSDs (either 22mmx42mm or 22mmx80mm, up to 1TB). Note that the 2.5" drive slot and the M.2 2280 slot are mutually exclusive, meaning they cannot be used simultaneously due to space constraints. To determine what's currently installed in your computer, you can use Device Manager or other relevant applications. Alternatively, carefully opening the back cover and observing the hardware can provide this information. Once identified, you can decide what to purchase. For example, if your computer is equipped with only an M.2 2242 SSD, you have two options: you can either install another M.2 2280 SSD (up to 1TB) or install a 2.5" HDD - up to 1TB (requiring caddy components for HDD). This information is provided to the best of my knowledge, but it may not perfectly match your computer's specifications. I recommend thorough observation and research before proceeding with any upgrades. Cheers!
Thanks a lot, man! Since I dont have the laptop at my place right now, I can not take a look under the hood. However I made my own research and came to the same conclusions just like you did and decided to buy SSD M.2 2280 1TB Hikvision E3000 PCIe 3.0x4 NVMe 3D TLC My gaming 3 is 2021 model without Thanks again a lot for your competence and generosity!
İt’s late for ask this question but nowadays i bought this laptop. İ want to ask you this computer’s windows you buy or Lenovo gave this for you.İ don’t have windows in my laptop
My laptop comes with 'windows 11 home' pre installed, Sir. However depending on the model and market, Lenovo may offer laptops with or without an operating system.
Yes. In this model, there are four configurations. If you press (Fn + space bar) four consecutive times, the keyboard color will change in the order of RGB (waving multi color) - white - blue - off
hi should i get this laptop or macbook m1 air mostly need for college and light gaming since entering college next year and this laptop is costing me around 40k and macbook 70k will be using the same laptop for 5 yrs and need good battery backup...
The MacBook Air is typically more expensive and is known for its performance in design-related tasks. If you are a designer or creator with a higher budget, it could be a suitable choice. The Lenovo IdeaPad, being more budget-friendly, may be a better option for those who prioritize gaming and are looking for a cost-effective solution (More options for less payment) The decision ultimately depends on your specific needs, budget, and the primary use of the laptop. (also consider the software availability and OS compatibility)
There may be different options technically for the respective models. I apologize as I'm not aware of all models. In my model, there are four configurations. If you press (Fn + space bar) four consecutive times, the keyboard color will change in the order of RGB - white - blue - off.
It can be used. but carefully select the dado blades based on the arbor length. you can use this video as a guide, specially from the timestamp 7:33 to 8:36
Top job ! I made an almost 100% same solution , over a year ago , by this same original miter gauge ! I used a part (2pc.) of another DeWalt machine with the same result as you developed !!! No need for Chinese monster miter gauges with bearings and stuff !
Thats great solution! Could it be done also by completely replacing aluminium rail with the one custom made like we do for a cross cut sled? I feel like it could be easier 😅
Good work sir. But if a man in a shed can make it correct - why can't a massive rich company employ a good engineer to get it right at the factory ? Answer they just laughing at us all. Taking the money from us and laughing at us .
Yes, that's a great point. But after making these careful adjustments, the output seems to be more precise and acceptable to some extent. Thank you for your great feedback.
I lost my mitre guage and made one from hardwood. It had the same problem, and I fixed it with a counter bored pilot hole for a wood screw. the head sticks out enough to take up the slack and can be adjusted as needed.
You may find it as finished product in various sizes at your local hardware shops. if you cant find it, use the 'Aliexpress' online market place. there are lot more variants. select the correct size for your requirement. thanks
That is great job. Solid. If You want to make it quick but just for few cuts, You only need a good quality of paper tape. I just stick two layers for both sides and it fit nice and tight. Take csre guys ! :)
Awesome video and thank you! But why can’t these miter gauge’s come out the box more reliably and accurate? I’m new to woodworking and I’m so confused on the list of jigs and after market equipment that is needed.
Thank you for your appreciation. You know manufacturers mainly give their attention on factors such as portability, cost (price), and on site easy maintenance when it comes to 'job site' table saws like this. Precision is often a secondary consideration, but that doesn't necessarily mean the output is always imprecise. If we tune this machine so carefully, the output can reach the precision level of cabinet saw. As you mention in your comment, there are lot more aftermarket jigs and equipment available, but those can be quite expensive.
I like your fix AND Sketchup knowledge but the best fix for, almost all contractor saws if you want to afford it, is to buy an aftermarket miter gauge. They are much more stout and accurate. Thanks! !! !!!
can you suggest, what kind of combination blade i can use in dwe7492. just hobbies, don't need to change blade anytime. i want to buy this jobsite table saw. thank you
This is a broader subject that needs to be discussed in more detail. Generally speaking, when dealing with high and medium-density materials like MDF or hardwood , my recommendation is to use the combination blade with around 50 to 60 teeth (including). this choice can offer benefits such as cleaner cuts and reduced blade wear, primarily because these types of blades typically feature 15-degree ATB (Alternate top beveled teeth). However, such blades can be more expensive. On the other hand, if you are working with plywood or veneer, a general-purpose blade with around 30 to 50 teeth is suitable (40 teeth is better). this can provide cleaner cuts and is usually more budget-friendly. But keep in mind that blades with 30-degree high angle ATB teeth tend to become dull faster. Additionally be cautious about the diameter of the blade. it's recommended to search for blades with a diameter not exceeding 250mm, as there may be limited space with in the blade assembly cage (I have also mentioned this in my previous comment). I hope this information helps you to make a better choice. go for a good Brand. Cheers! 🥰
Thanks for the detailed video. I see you lay a lot of emphasis on calibrating your equipment which is a good thing. I am quiet surprised how dewalt or the retailers here have been selling 250mm and 254mm versions of the saw. The 254mm can take the most commonly found 10" saw blade. This blade can be found in any decent hardware shop while the 250mm blade is not so common. Not sure if your 250mm can take a 10" blade. Keep making more videos. Would love to see what you make using this. You earned a sub.
Thank you for your lovely expression and for the subscription. Also, your point makes sense. However, if you are using this saw or planning to buy it, please be concerned about the diameter of the saw blade. you may encounter some difficulties if you intend to replace the blade with a larger diameter other than the 250mm, as there is a lack of room inside the blade assembly cage. Cheers!
