From Arturo Sandoval’s master class. He said he would play long tones on the very low register of the trumpet, sounding like a trombone. This would give him the support and stamina to play the high notes. He explained the high notes required a lot of air and support. Those exercises on the low notes helped him play as he does, super high. This also would stop him from putting pressure on his embouchure (lip position). Maybe you can try this and it’ll help you.
A tip from Arturo Sandoval. He plays the lower octave of the trumpet with full sound, mastering the lower octave will help with the high register of the trumpet. 🎺
How do you get the high register to sound like laser beams? My instructor taught me proper technique and I can reach those double notes, but they’re a squeak. 😂
