No _way_ you shouted out Goofy's Fun House for PS1! I swear I've never met anybody in my life who has played that game! People don't know what they missed out on. That, and "Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue" were constantly in my console as a kid.
NO WAY!!! Mannnn Goofys Funhouse was my world. I drove my older brothers nuts with it because I used to beg to have a turn on the PS1 to play it 🤣loved the Toy Story games too!!
You need to grind, pick a location with fiends that are strong and sit there and fight over and over again building your sphere grid… Your team’s pretty weak, by the time I got to that scene, my entire team was at least 1000 HP
Hey there, Holly! Watching this early afternoon-ish. That's a lovely cat you have, as well! They tend to be very quick on spotting movement, in the smallest of objects - probably their built-in hunter instincts. As I watch this, I'm realizing how finnicky and tricky they made the whole sphere grid system; you have to work for those stats! There are no encounters while on choco-back. Before the boss, you can choose to have a certain dialogue option with a certain Crusader, and depending on what you say to them, you can alter the outcome of....something. The boss' arms can also be farmed for xp, since they grow back. Me, I started FFX over a day ago. I power-levelled to have Tidus' 4th Overdrive before Kilika. You can reap mad xp if you farm Sinsacles during the fin boss fight, but it takes hours, and since only the steam version has the speed up feature, its not viable; I farmed for 2 hours and got a little over 10 sphere levels, but apparently, you can get 99 sphere levels which takes about 45 hours - but people have reported it freezes the game right after and imagine all that time/effort lost! All that to say, there are designated farming spots made for you to get overpowered early; but it also requires a bunch of return spheres. Its nice...but I cant be bothered! Atm, I just won the crystal cup 1-0 and am close to the chocobo eater. The last thing I'll say is, there are actually THREE outcomes of that fight; 1- It pushes you off the cliff and you get no rewards 2- You kill it and gain xp and items and 3 - And this is actually the best one for rewards, is you pushing IT off the cliff, without killing it (you heal it time to time to ensure you dont kill it). I'm not sure you get xp, but you get some good spheres for it. Sorry for the raaaant and thank you! Cant wait to see what you'll think of the twists coming up~
Hi Holly ! You've missed a little scene with Wakka/Lulu/Luzzu explaining something about Chappu, before taking the elevator, if you go down the screen. It is an important cinematic in my opinion ☺
Pointers for this part of the game: work on your sphere grid and levelling up your characters, there's some really great guides on how to best utilise the sphere grid out there if you're unsure what to do with it (we all had to learn it at some point so don't worry about needing any guides for it), and look at your team and think about which characters can tackle which part of the boss (eg you have team members who can hit the head with long range attacks, use them to stop the venom attacks and use people like Auron for the short range attacks)
if I remember correctly you can shorten the summoning sequences in the settings if it's bothering you, I usually turn them off. When you get a new summon you see the full sequence once and then it switches to the shorter versions
Unfortunately, you are just way underleveled, One of the Biggest Game Mechanics in FFX, is the ability to switch your party Member mid-Fight. Using the Left bumper Butten (LB) or (L1) if you are using a Playstation Controller. and to use all Party member every fight so they all get exp. EXP is not divided to Party member, but Awarded to all Member if they participate.
I know its probably real late to tell you this (cause its an edited twitch stream and all, for all i know you could have already beat the game by the time this video went up) but you can go into the "Customize" menu and switch your party members' AI. I usually make Goofy way more aggressive and tell Donald to use more offensive and defensive spells Also, Dale has the red nose. Its all in the nose
I can’t wait for you to reach a certain early world, even as a recent final fantasy fan I wish I knew the characters before pls these games. But I do understand the hype of some characters now.
hi folks! this is actually an edit of my twitch stream (broadcast on twitch.tv/hollyy) so there will be more jumpcuts than usual and every now and again there may be some light chat interaction, maybe some skipped scenes (if conversation has taken place). ALSO. I sadly don't have any more footage of my Wonderland playthrough and minimal Deep Jungle as I didn't export the VODs in time. I do have the rest though (I think) 🫶 No spoilers of the games including this one because I haven't finished~
actually i sort of did 🤣when 3 came out I bought it, played it for 20 mins and was like wtf is goin on 🧍🏻♀then a friend questioned me on why I started with 3 HAHAH I'm glad to be doing it properly now tho and I already own 3 atleast when I get to it🤣🤣
Every time i start hyperfixating on big JRPGs the algorithm always shoots me to creators ive never heard of experiencing the same emotional rollercoaster i am and in the same time frame pretty much.
43:20 no, you should definitely level up all of them. Just make sure everyone gets an action (just defending is fine, triangle button on PS), and after that you can summon and use the aeons. Right now they are OP but they fall off quickly. You should also not bother with locks on the sphere grid, let characters follow their path and don't backtrack so much
RU-vid recommended this video to me randomly so i decided to check it out and im really glad that i did. FFX is maybe my favorite FF game from the whole series, i really liked your commentary and overall the way you made this video. I will definitely stay here through this whole playthrough and you definitely got a new subscriber from me!
Hey there, Holly! I discovered you during your Hollow Knight playthrough. I enjoy how charismatic and all around bubbly you seem to be, in general. Also, good to hear about your life goals, as well. I recently picked FFX up again after a certain streamer inspired me to. I had bought a PS2 when it pretty much came out back in the day, and FFX along with it; and had a legendary 5500+ hour file, where I had done pretty much everything, even held a world record for a certain mini game at the time. I'm now playing the HD Remastered version that has the content from the international version I didnt have access to, so it'll be wild trying to get everything again and then some. FFX is a very, very grindy game if you want to do everything. Like the initial Blitzball tournament, you can win against the Chocobo Eater; defeating it gets you some nice items and some good XP, along with the satisfaction that you prevented the terrible creature from harming anymore chocobos, and ontop of that, the chocobo handler outside of Rin's lets you ride a chocobo for free (as a one time only "thank you"). Alternately; as you saw, not dealing enough damage to Choccobo Eater in time results in your team getting knocked off the cliff and it goes without saying, it lives to see another day and eat many, many more chocobos. FFX has some good plot twists and a few scenarios that can play out a few ways (though nothing major or significant, so dont fear messing anything up). Keep at it, my new favorite serial stop-starter of games~
Omg your comment made me all teary ;-; thank you SO much!!! I appreciate you 😭also world record lets gooo??? oh no.... I gotta go save those chocobos 💀🤣
Yes, play the kingdom hearts games in the order you see then on the collections. You won't get lost if you play the series in order. That said, if you would like some surprises in KH2, then play it before watching the 358/2 days movie. (3rd game on the menu.) When Donald and Goofy said a star's going out, that was actually Sora's world that blinked out. The worlds are dropping fast. So time is of the essence. Obviously, it's an action rpg, so you can take your time just like final fantasy, but the story facts are there. If you need any help, I'll try to provide support in the comments. This is my favorite game series of all time with Sonic not far behind.
Riku should have had his own game. He has a whole arc through the series. The little gameplay was not enough you get through the series. You are truly lucky though. I played the original version and camera control was a nightmare and certain commands were tedious to execute. Moving the camera was done by the triggers instead of stick. Not a fun time. Also in the instruction manual that came with the original game. It is said Sora and Kair are 14 in the first game and Riku is 15. Ironically, when I got the PS2, my first two games I purchased was Kingdom Hearts and FFX together. So great combo since KH had FFX characters in them. How lucky was that.
hi folks! this is actually an edit of my twitch stream (broadcast on twitch.tv/hollyy) so there will be more jumpcuts than usual and every now and again there may be some light chat interaction. I'm just trialling this but if it's not an enjoyable watch I will just stick to streaming it! ❤ As of 29th sept I'm at the Riku fight in Hollow Bastion. Please no spoilers about the games including this one because I haven't finished~
glad to see you back playing FFX! If you're wondering about buying weapons, I'd focus more on building up a solid item stock earlier in the game and focusing on weapons later in the game. And it's good to rotate your team based on what fiends you're fighting, that way battles go quicker (Lulu can normally take out the thunder flan in one hit for example) and you're boosting the entire team's sphere grid which is beneficial in the long run :) looking forward to seeing more of these episodes :)
Thank you so much!!! yup yup I had to prioritize a bunch of things. Distance makes the heart grow fonder and I already have the next 2 eps recorded as a result :D 💗
@@TheHollyverse that's great, i watched the first few minutes where you mentioned you watched "the movie", that is good to hear because you are absolutely right in thinking that you probably miss a lot of things if you stop for a longer time. The grind is real lol - maybe now that you got a refresher of the story, you understand more of the things that happened until now and it will certainly help with the rest of the playthrough too :)
