Can concur. Outstanding acting and screenplays, both. Double addiction. But don’t you just wonder what Thornton’s mother said when he came home with Margaret in tow? “ Mom, I’m back to loving Miss Hale and guess what? Turns out we were wrong and she’s actually still virtuous and OMG she has a pile of money now so she’s saving the mill and our house and there’s nowhere for her to stay tonight so how about we put her up in Fanny’s old room until we have time to get married?” Think The Grande Popsicle would warm up to her?
Totally agree.it’s one of my favourite books and this adaptation is absolutely the bestDaniela and Richard both deserved settings and BAFTAs. and the music was just beautiful. Well done Simon Eliot for the stunning designs and well earned BAFTA. Just wish it is shown more on TV . Now trying to make up my own playlist for it. Than,s for this soundtrack,
MR. THORNTON... . ABSOLUTELY YES.....poignant performances. Truly gifted and the love story speaks to the heart and soul. The struggle...the pain and challenges. The way he looks at Margaret Hale then presents that flower...that first kiss. Simply soulful.
I was looking for a soundtrack. Thank you so much. I just found the series -watched on Netflix disks, ordered my own copy from England, bought the Penguin book with the notes and introduction by Patricia Ingham (excellent), read the book online while I waited for the print copy-Gutenberg.org-and am immersed. Absolutely immersed. The drama -the loneliness, loss and haunting longing demand no less. What amazing acting and cast--and script. Dramatizing the book was so well done--the entire program is amazing. The music captures and frames the story so well and is brought to heart just hearing it.
Is it possible to have track 09 but without the talking between Thornton and his mother? I don't mind them or anything specifically, but I'd love to have purely instrumental version of it! So lovely (as of course many of the tracks are).
I really, really, REALLY want someone to do a video like this of these two with the song "Rewrite the Stars" from the Greatest Showman! Every time I hear that song, I think of Kili and Tauriel.
