Welcome to Good Hope Homestead my wife Felecia and myself Tom Fitzgerald along with the rest of our family look forward to sharing with you our life on the the homestead as we build our 1 acre dream homestead in New Kent, Virginia
I want to put a PVC on the and on the part where you going to hinge 1 inch long PVC include and glue don't one side and left other side lose where you wanted to swing at that would be in your not trying to insult you or anything like that just an idea I had watching you put it thank you for your video inspiring
You could use t's to make hinges for the door, with a small piece of pipe connecting them. Then glue the door t's, and have the frame t's unglued so it swings.
Yes, 1" would work just fine I have had some send me pics of ones they built using different sized PVC, we just used the 3/4 because we got a great deal on it from a local lawn and garden center that was getting out of the irrigation business
Excellent video. So easy a woman can do. I was able to watch, take notes, (dimensions/great help), and follow along. With the help of my husband, (my cut man) we built our tractor in about 5 hours. Thx so much for helping us. Looking forward to letting my chx free-range as needed in their New Chix Tractor - along the Rivah! There are so many Birds of Prey along the Rivahs...THIS is Just what I needed. BTW; I'm a newby...so Extra Thx; Many Thx to your video.
I'm so glad it gives your birds a chance to free range and stay safe! Thank you for watching and the kind words, we have been using ours for two seasons now and it has held up great with no problem, I have had a small issue with it being lite weight, we live in Virginia very close to the coast and when we get some of the strong coastal storms come through I have had to secure it a few times to keep the strong winds from moving it but other than that it has been great.
I appreciate your video. In my mind, PVC is a really good option. It's light and can be made to be very sturdy. I really appreciated that you gave the cut dimensions and walked through the process. Good one!
I used a lot of what I had laying around, the white tarp on top is actually banner material that comes in a roll, I had some left over from a sign business I used to have but it's basically just like a tarp just a little thicker
I used them all summer with no issues, I'm am getting ready to set them back out in two weeks when my Cornish cross are ready to come out of the brooder
Just an update... We had this for dinner tonight and it was so delicious. I did cut the spicy ingredients in half. Thanks for the new recipe my whole family loves!
Can’t wait to try this recipe this week! How do you think it will turn out if I half the spicy ingredients? Will I still get the flavor of the spicy and sweet?
yes cut the jalapeno powder in half to one teaspoon instead of two and the cayenne powder in half to two teaspoons instead of 4 and it will make it more mild
Nice pvc tractor are 10x10 pvc tractor lasted about 4 years. Love how lite weight it is and easy to move. I now moved to a chicken ailly setup only because i have the room and a the Materials where mostly free.
Greetings Tom and Felicia. Thanks for stopping over to my channel and starting to follow. I have done the same. Will be fun watching. Have a blessed weekend.
Yes, we have 10 silky's 8 hens and two roosters (one of the roosters is still a juvenile) they are my wife's favorite and they are so much fun to watch and they are very sweet and gentle with our grandchildren. We are going to be adding a few different breads in with them soon.
@@goodhopehomestead9684 I was not keen on having silkies at first, I wanted winter Hardy chickens. However, those silkies have been a valuable asset to our homestead. We just love them.
Wow buddy I did basically the same thing for my little chicks, i had them in the house for a short while then moved them to my Chicken dome (check out my 2nd video). I had a bigger cage in there covered with 1/2 inch mesh wire then covered with plastic that I could roll up when the weather was nice. Good video keep going.
loved the chicken dome! We are going to be adding a second coop hopefully later on this year my wife is already planning on adding some more variety of chicks definitely interested in doing a dome type coop for them
Us too, we spent Saturday in the green house transplanting our starts there is nothing like being surrounded by all this new life growing. It gives me hope that spring will be here soon
Great overview of your Chicken Brood build! Love that you found inexpensive lumber for it! Just subscribed. Thanks also for subscribing to my channel! 🙏
Not all of them have names yet, but we have named some of them, our oldest rooster is named Henry, the young juvenile rooster is named Omelet and four of our hens names are Eggna, Henrietta, Gertrude and Pepei
