may I know what size socket you use for the variator? 30mm and 27mm? cordless impact wrench can open? I am planning to do it on my tmax 500. Need to get ready the necessary tools.
Hi @Joel Huang, you will need both the 27mm (deep socket) and a 29mm (normal) socket to remove the variator. Sorry left out this part of the disassembly as it was quite tedious to remove. If you dont have the variator locking wrench (proprietary tool), the cordless impact wrench will still work. You will need the high torque ones though.
Hi bro. I'm looking to buy the Tmax as well. May I ask, do u think it can survive delivery rides? Cause I plan to buy a Tmax because of comfort and pillon riding with the wife but sometimes I do dispatch.. Is it easy to lane split? Is the maintenance as often and expensive? Thanks brooo
Hi Umar, personally, i think the xmax will be better suited for delivery rides. Its lighter, nimble and more fuel efficient. Dont get me wrong, the tmax is fine too but, its wider and longer for those lane splitting and weaving thru traffic situation. The basic maintenance for the tmax is not expensive but all the additional stuff like belts/filters etc, is going to cost slightly more than the normal bikes.

douglas murphy it took me roughly 1.5hrs with the whole work + camera work. Was trying to be extra cautious since it was my first time doing the break down. Thanks for watching my video. 👍🏽
Thanks for getting back to me, sorry it took a while to reply as I have been on holiday for a few weeks ! The TMax is a great machine, I am on my 4th and my latest is the 530DX. Cheers@@rahmath850
Hussein Said I bought mine online. My v belt costs ard $250 for an aftermarket. I have seen the drive belt go for $300+ for an original part from Yamaha. I have not changed my drive belt yet. Will upload a video on changing out the drive belt when the time comes.
@@rahmath850 250$ for a v belt is extreme! Just buy from malossi of polini its way cheaper! And indeed drivebelt is expensive but i think that are the same as the alieexpres ones if you look carefully😂😂
Nelson Williams .. if u are getting one from China, then yes, be prepared to wait a little longer as they are celebrating their new year. Glad to hear that u are able to find one. All the best..
Nelson Williams ... got the hugger right from ebay and i have no idea if its actually related to any other bikes.. but looking at the curves and edges, i think its only meant for the tmax. But yes, i also think that there are other universal huggers u may be able to use as long as the dimensions allow.
Michal Malik yes it does. At certain rpm, it will starting droning without the db killer. I have had people coming up to me telling me that its too loud and annoying. But i like it.. haha.. 👍🏽
easier like this if ur area is wide.. by rolling those marbles u can pinpoint defect location easier. so after that u can tap with screwdriver to get the exact faulty tiles.
