I wonder if these lovely people actually know that their Christian spirit and values failed to transfer to the character of Donald Trump. His life has been an example of the very opposite leanings.
From South Africa. Seven years later. Enjoyed the songs of praise ... and the Isle of Lewis. My great-great-grandfather, James Turner from Shoestanes farm, about 30 kilometers from Edinburgh, arrived in the 1850's in South Africa. He married another Scottish lady, Mary Elizabeth Frier in the small town of Riversdale in the Cape Province. They moved to a small town, Douglas, in the North Cape. His one granddaughter, Mary, married my grandfather, Gerrie Scholtz that was a POW on St. Helena Island during the second Anglo Boer War. As the Turner family in Scotland was a too small family they became a sept of the Lamont clan. I enjoy Scotland, though I've not had the privilege to visit this beautiful country.
What a wonderful story of the Trump family, we Americans love our President Trump, I always knew Trump’s mother was from Scotland but I had no idea about her story. Too bad the BBC has lost its journalistic integrity, y’all are just unwatchable now.

Interesting history of Lewis, but usual BBC hack saying that Trump creates division……..anyone who goes against the MSM in Britain or here is deemed divisive- go along to get along and keep your job, or you will be attacked and fired. Trump got his guts to stand up to them from the character, strength, faith and common sense of mother and ancestors. Only recently I learned that some (31%) of my ancestry is from the Upper Hebrides of Scotland so I was very interested in watching the video and found myself wondering if I have family there and if their names are in one of the baptismal books of that church or another there. It was a pleasure to get a glimpse of the area and "meet" the people in a way. Sorry to learn of the returning soldiers dying within sight of home and I see how resilient the people are and welcoming. Even before I found out about my heritage I loved the Scottish accents and enjoyed hearing them and the songs.

I'm watching this moving documentary and am cognizant of how different the lives of Scotland and America would have been had Mary Anne MacLood not emigrated across the Pond. We would have been spared 45s disastrous presidency. 45 might have grown up among these serene Lewis Islanders. He would have been a dutiful Scottish Episcopalian son. IMAGINE 🤔

When it finally got around to mentioning Mary McLeod and Donald , true to form BBC couldn’t help but throw shade. There is another documentary about Mary McLeod that truly tells about her worth watching . This one other than seeing the landscape and music is a thumbs down for me! My opinion. Judge for yourself if you have 33 minutes to watch.
