I recently bought myself an rx 6800 sapphire in a good online store and started playing - in some games everything is fine, in others a solid green screen pops up, an unpleasant repetitive squeak and the problem with rebooting was solved by lowering the video frequency of the core from 2300 to 1700, but you understand that this is a 20% loss in performance, which I did not like at all. Having climbed the entire Internet and forums, I could not solve this problem in any other way, neither the temperature, nor the power supply, nor the processor are to blame here, everything happens only on this video card, which on my last 1050 for 8 years there were no problems. I returned it back to the store, they said that the problem was in the firmware, they slightly changed the firmware (at home I noticed that the firmware was really changed in that the min and max periods were different). The problem was not solved at all. more additional information - in some games the green stuff pops up after a second, in some games you can play for 10 hours and nothing will happen, so I didn't even notice the problem of the first week. fortnite - ok, beamng - crash, cyberpunk - crash, but rare. Sometimes it crashed on the desktop, from telegram and other games. The problem is not related to the settings, for example, all stress tests (furmark, donut, superposition, 3dmark and the test from AMD Adrenaline itself, stability and order for an hour, even when increasing the frequency to 2500). I thought the video memory, tested the occt video memory - no errors, the video core - no errors. Started with other components - no errors. All components worked properly on my 1050, now the green stuff is on the new one. I don't know anymore what this could be connected with. The problem is related to the fact that all the problems continue on b450 motherboards. I am writing the characteristics of the 800w power supply unit, I bought it new with a video card, an expensive ryzen 5 5500 b450 asus tuf games 2 16gb RAM (one APAC strip, the second Kingston, works in overclocking, I tried to turn on the PC without overclocking the RAM - the problem persisted) Windows 10 also had problems with the video card - 1 and 3 RAM slots do not work at all. Even with one flag for 1 or 3, with all variations. No way. 2 and 4 slots work with some limitations. In one of the bright strips, the PC does not start, the second time it will start. It happened that the combination was correct, but still did not start, but it was decided to start the PC with one strip, turn off, and start with two strips. I tested the RAM with a meme test for 4 hours - everything is fine on both strips. In channels 2 and 4, the strips work fine one by one. Once I overclocked the processor incorrectly, it turned off the whole system from overheating - I didn't understand why it crashed, I looked at the temperature, it was 115, but it didn't undervolt, which is strange, like on Intel. After each reboot, the RAM stopped working from such overheating, which is why the flags changed places, started, then again in places and it started working. If you just activate it - a black screen. Sounder got the corresponding error for two long times. This is all very strange, experts help, I've already tried everything, brought it to the service - nothing, what should I do? Maybe I should replace the motherboard under warranty?

bro , i change my gpu to rx 5700 xt , but now my pc restarting randomly . sometimes im turn on pc and open game , 15 minutes later my pc restarting . can u help ?
I don’t have that setting in my Bios. All I have are PCIEX16 Bifurication, PCIEX16 slot configuration, PCie slot configuration,PCIE ASPM MODE, PCie ARI Support, and PCiE Ten bit tag support. Would appreciate any help.
i have a B550 board and still have the crashes despite it has Gen 4 support. I think it´s on auto and I will change it to Gen 4 and hope it works then. The AMD 5000 series was the the first 7nm gpu series so I guess they fucked up to set it up properly for customers. I was really getting used to have a PC which was called "Diva" by me because sometimes it worked just fine over weeks and suddently it would crash with no reason. I always checked for windows updates, for AMD driver updates but nothing worked and the crashes kept comming. I hope it works now.
Just did this on an ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming. For anyone with an ASUS bios it should be under a setting called "Onboard Devices Configuration". Thanks dude! So many years of misery hopefully solved haha.
Bro there is no way this is it… I just found the video and I’ll do it soon. I’ve been fighting with this gpu since over 4 years now and gave up. I had the EXACT same issues. I don’t believe that it’s gonna work but we ll see. If yes, I would be so greatful. But this bug is more than enough for a basic consumer to buy NVIDIA instead of AMD

Im glad that you found a solution for your crashes but is there a way to fix high temps (I have the exact same GPU) ps: I already undervolted my GPU to 975mv and underclocked it to 1900MHz still I get 80C on high demanding games
I think 80C is expected temperature for this GPU under high load. It can go as high as 92C. You can check working temperatures on google and they all say 80C is a normal load temperature for 5700 XT. Which PC Case do you have? Maybe better air flow could help bring it down a bit.
@@Metcii I have a Zalman i3 Edge which is some kind of a, you could call it, prototype. It has 3 fans in the front but there's a huge plastic cover in front of them. Because of that cover, they aren't sucking that much air. At one point I removed the cover to see how much more airflow was going through and it was a lot. My temps dropped by a few C. However... there was a lot of dust getting in. It's just better to buy a really good case. If you have a good pc, you should also get a good case :)
hello brother my friend have the same gpu as me we both have rx 5700xt but he literally have double fps then me in every game such as rainbow six and counter strike 2 and I can't find any solution even my friend who have gtx 1660 super have more fps then me while i even have a better cpu any solution pls
+1 more person helped by this video. I picked up a budget 5700 XT to have another go at Starfield after the patch only to find it crashing quickly into the intro. Turned off my light Ryzen 5600 overclock, and even turned the GPU power down to 50% in AMD Adrenalin software along with an aggressive fan curve. But the game would still crash to desktop during action. I thought it might be my PSU! You saved me, dude. Thanks!

Auto settings not mean "intelligently cycling thru best option automatically" it means " i choose the first option cuz im a lazy mobo" I laugh at the millions of people that are running they're gpus at wrong gen or even worse at wrong pci lanes.
Just put a build together with a rx5600 and changed it right away from auto to gen3. Msi x470 Gaming Plus Max motherboard. Ryzen 5 5500. Thanks bro. Now i can run another benchmark to see if there is anything different in performance
@@stefanotiengo171 I found out what have worked for me - get rid of the Radeon tools - clean driver installation - tune with msi afterburner to max 1725MHz GPU and tune a little bit with the fans
I own rx5700 with gigabyte z790 gaming x ax mobo and only managed to find and tweak two options which were PCH PCIe Link speed from auto to gen4 and CPU PCIe Link Speed from auto to gen4 with possible gen5, could i get some feed if i did it correctly before my pc go boom or something? Tried to get some google research with this mobo but only offers about it came out :(
I've been crashing for a while and I thought it was because I bought my RX 5700XT off of Aliexpress. I've tried numerous of the same attempted fixes that you have and I never thought to change this setting. I have the a MSI B450 VDH-MAX which is similar to yours so I hope this has fixed my issue. I've just changed the option.
Didn't have the same option but did find a fix to my problem thanks to your video. Couldn't run anything at high settings without my 5600xt crashing or glitching constantly, turns out I needed to enable above 4G decoding and set ReBar to Auto. Now I'm running Cyberpunk 2077 at Ultra settings getting 65-81fps, limited to 75 and it stays at 75. So thank you, for at least pointing me in the right direction :)
if u have asus motherboard, its on different location. Asus motherboard owners should go " Advanced Settings > PCH Configuration > PCi Express configuration"

@@jonous5536 Could be. I noticed I crash more often on higher HZ. Sometimes I cap HZ to 60 and I don't crash, then I put it back to 144 - 165 and I crash. Try updating all of your drivers, including mobo.
Bought a 7900xtx 1,5 months ago. Drivers kept perma crashing. I tried literally everything there is, every reddit forum, every yt video. In the end nothing helped and it was obvious that amd has no clue about GPU's or how to actually make proper drivers. I sent the card back and I am now using the integrated GPU in my 7800x3d and I am waiting like this 2 months to replace it with a 4090 (need to save some extra money). The headaches I had with my 5700xt (or generally amd gpus) back since 2019 when I bought it with a 9900k, is in my opinion not worth it to save a little versus nvidia gpus that mostly come absolutely problemfree. I felt it also when u said that u got used to the problems and crashes, which is kinda ridiculous if we think about it.
Glad you found something that works for you. Sometimes I suppose it can be a mix of things and we can all find something that works for us. Unfortunately some are unfixable.
well i have a hard drop fps in my gaming pc its begin suddnly happning so i 1 - i updated all drivers 2 - i formated my pc 6 times in a row 3 - i rolled back drivers to previous versions 4 - i updated bios nothing fixed that hard drop fps * somone told me that my 600 W psu damaged he suggest that i should change it to fix that hard drop fps @@imagineakYT
Hmm.. Well definitely try to borrow a PSU and test it before buying a new one. Maybe it's not your PSU. Try to run some other hardware tests on your pc like RAM annd so on. Do you have a HDD or SSD?@@cimocimo

My pc crashed about four times today despite the usual fail-safe I had, I thought it's dying. Tried everything just like you in the past, with same results. Without a fail-safe, my computer was crashing when listening to music, or watching RU-vid, or even doing nothing at all sometimes. I just spent a couple hours listening to music and watching yt, and nothing is happening. BLACK MAGIC PS btw my gpu isn't 5700 xt like yours, it isn't even AMD

I was honestly worried it's my fairly geriatric processor (i5-6600) failing since in my case it's CPU spiking instead of GPU, and I've been getting dpc_watchdog_violation with bizarre unexplainable side effects. Like, the system would crash sooner or later if I'd be listening to music, watching yt, or playing something small and lightweight. But as long as I was running a heavyweight game like Cyberpunk the system was solid, no crashes. Could watch anything, listen to anything, no problems as long as a big game is keeping the system together somehow. That was my fail-safe for two years. It failed today, Horizon Zero Dawn spiraled into crashing over and over, I started googling my issue without hope for 40th time, and somehow stumbled upon your advice. Changed PCI from auto to v3, and here we go about five hours later, no game in the background. It would've crashed already even if I wasn't listening to or watching anything.

@@imagineakYT I still had some issues but I seem to have finally fixed the problem, and pcie 4 is OK too. Basically I got More Power Tools from the Igors Lab website, and loaded the config for a stock AMD RX 5700 non XT ROM from Techpowerup. I then saved it as an .mpt file. I downloaded Red Bios Editor from Igor's Lab, loaded a copy of my initially saved RX 5700 XT rom file and applied the RX 5700 .mpt file in RBE and saved a new modded ROM. This was flashed over my card's rom and eliminated the problem. I them fine tuned the MPT settings, important ones being lower max power consumption and amps, and lower max frequency which I settled on 135W and 150A and 1750 Mhz boost 1900. This was applied to the final modded ROM after experimenting and testing stability. BTW AMD drivers have no issues working with the modded card ROM and showing the altered mpt settings.
Can you borrow it for a couple of days to test it? Or are you buying it online? Since you can see the amount of views this video has, I'd guess this GPU has problems. It's a coin flip. Some get a working card, some don't. This card is GREAT when it works. If you can get an alternative, maybe buy it instead of this.@@mariusdoesart
