It’s more the sections what you called the six pack that can give a false reading. The underside of the carapace where you first checked is the last place the crab goes hard and therefore is the proper checkpoint. You can have a crab proper rock solid at all the sections near the abdominal flap but if you check the underside of the carapace like you do which is great good on you good stuff you may find it compresses a bit or a lot which obviously means you will not have a proper full crab. I was once told that checking the sections near the abdominal flap is an indicator for how much meat will be in the body and legs and checking the underside of the carapace is an indicator for how much meat will be in the arms, elbows, claws and overall and believe this to be true. In fewer words checking the underside of the carapace will determine how full your crab is a lot more than the six pack will and should always be checked. Some nice crabs there man well done and happy crabbing 👍🏽
@@adventuresinwonderland5592 i disagree completely mate have had rock solid under the carapace before and soft six pack and crab was not full.. the six pack is the true indicator if it is full or not… many pro crabbers will agree with me there!!
I think we got a little mixed up there haha I think you’re saying exactly what I said. When I say the underside of the carapace I mean the shell of the crab where you checked first. Never will the underside of the carapace be rock solid and the sections near the abdominal flap be soft, at least that’s what I have experienced so far but I’ll keep an eye on that. 👍🏽

@@fishingwithCurrie Good man, thanks bud, thinking I might go the Aussie Gold 800's also, a little smaller and great for the tinny, be great if you can swing something, CHEERS
Great content mate When we cook whole fish we make up a stuffing of cubed bread onion tomato pinch mixed herbs and a small tun of smoked oysters and an egg mix together add lemon pieces aswell inside and in the cuts outside Beautiful side with the fish USE same recipe for chooks aswell except the oysters
Gday mate. I’m a big fan of colour changing till ya get the bites, but not everyone’s the same. If ya got confidence in what you’re throwing generally you’ll catch on it. Good video mate. 😉👌🏻
Get some Coucom’s crab pots man they’re a good pot, light and no word of a lie you can assemble a pot in about 10 seconds ! well done sir some nice crabs there as usual 👍🏽
Fair enough then man. I have thought about getting the ultimates for a few years now but for me it’s all about making things as easy as you can out there and the ol Coucom allows this and their quality is good too, happy crabbin man 👍🏽
I used to have a spot in the Fitzroy River caught Blueys up to 14lbs many at 8-10 lbs Ruined ehen a Pro run a net in the exact spot never seen a net there before and never got a Bluey there since apparently he got 1600 kgs in a tide 😢
Only trouble ive found with the smaller pots is if you get a good Buck or a Cranky Gennie they can stop other Crabs entering the smaller pots to eat their perceived food
28:30 They all tarpon an blue salmon bro. That’s how the school and often school together. This time of year they come in by the thousands, especially with no nets in that area to clean them up!
perhaps there’s kids out there without a roll model-figure in their life so really..if moody can share his experiences that helps some one out and get something in return for his efforts god bless the bloke. Don’t mok some one for sharing there experience that could very well help some one out 👍
@@bundybarramundi mate! I’m sure a parent or single parent if they have no clue in what to do them selfs I’m sure they’d be willing to spend a $100 to allow someone with experience to teach a skill or two.
