Love it! I visited Greenfield Village just 1 week before this event. I would like to return someday when it occurs. What a treat to see, hear and experience!
Odd that the PCCs had Green Line livery for what was and is a premetro for the Ashmont Red Line. I'm glad the MBTA brought back the old MTA cream, crimson and orange paint scheme.
Great video Kevin. Watched it several times today and enjoy the sights and sounds. Pretty area so green with blue sky with so many brass era automobiles still enjoying the drive. Thanks for sharing.
Rolling stock: Armco steel visability cab b73 Landis tool 25 ton 89 Pennsylvania transformer technology 43 ton 1311 West pennsylvania railway boxcab 1 Monongahela and western pennsylvania steeplecab 3000 And several trolleys.
Question: If the tracks are electrified overhead like they often are in Europe, could trolleys run on railroad tracks? Or do they require a different gauge track?
If the proper wheels are used and if the track gauge of the streetcars is the same as the railroad track, then the cars can run on railroad tracks. There are many gauges in use. The tracks in this video are about 6 inches wider than standard railroad gauge.
For anyone and everyone who love the impeccable restoration aspect of this “parade” , this here is a feast for the eyes. For anyone who loves different shades of blue this is “off the charts” impressive. Good show folks. 👍
Hello Kevin, Amazing video and quality! We would like to use some small portions of this video for a student documentary at Humber College if you agree. I would like you to know that we will give you credits by the name you preference. And share with you the final result if you would like. Please let me know if it's okay with you. Have a great week!😃
My apologies! ... The Bay Belle what is a steamer but I believe that it was a bit more modern than the original boat that went to Tolchester. The Bay Belle always stopped at Tolchester Beach first, and then went on to Betterton Beach where it would remain docked for at least 3 to 4 hours before making her return trip every Saturday and Sunday each Summer...
Thanks... That must have been before the "Bay Bell"... She wasn't a steamer. When I was a kid we took the Bay Bell over 100 week-ends, leaving the inner-harbor on Saturday going to Betterton Beach after a brief stop at Tolchester. We would spend the night and return on Sunday almost every weekend during many summers while school was out. Great Memories!!
If the wheel has two tires, like the drawing that was drawn, and one of those tires explode, perhaps the car will land and the wheel will touch the ground, and it may be exposed to a coup, but: If the wheel has three tires, then the degree of safety will increase.
