I think I met both of you on the same day at the DAM about a month ago. Joey was bait catching and you were just coming from above the DAM where he was bait catching. Right away he told me they call him the flat king daddy lol
I have a Salty. It's actually 1 of the lightest premium pedals kayaks out there. And it will float in anything over 1.1 feet with the drive down. If you are fishing around boulders anything but a paddle kayak is gonna be a headache.
Treat life with respect. Eat it or leave it alone. You're just teaching it how to not get caught. There's hungry folks out here. Catch and eat or find another hobby.
I’ll retrieve it kind of in a fluttering motion and let it slowly sink to the bottom then repeat. If the body of water has a lot of snags, try not to let it hit bottom as much. Good luck!
Nice fish, nice stream, seems to me like you won on this trip. If you're open to suggestions on leaders, I would say that 6x is very fine for a woolly bugger, especially a heavy bead head. Streamer leaders are usually stiff and short, with larger tippet on the end to really turn that fly over and to maintain good contact with the fly. That may help increase your hookup rate as well. Good luck and good fishing!
