This recently began happening to me I have to jostle the drawer open Pull it out and scrape/remove ice every other day now You know the source of the water?
@@youngjock1985 thanks Someone told me to turn fridge temp to 38 and freezer to 5 degrees Fahrenheit And that would solve the problem I’m trying it now
its frozen shut due to water under the drawer. you just have to jimmy it until it breaks lose, then crack out all that ice - absolute piece of dogshit fridge. wouldnt buy another samsung to save my children's life
We had a GE profile before or Samsung and that was a nightmare ice maker goes within 1 year then it wouldn’t maintain a cold enough temp Fought tooth and nail with warranty company to get a prorated refund Ten years later my Samsung is freezing up like this one and the ice maker recently stopped working Meanwhile I have a $750 Frigidaire in the garage that’s 16+ years old and never a problem (knock on wood)
Op already knows this but I am posting for other people if the drawer moves up and down but not out you likely have a sheet of frozen ice under it holding it in place. Lift the drawer and reach underneath with your fingers to see if this is the case. You can thaw the whole fridge as the poster did but then you would need to do something with the food. Alternatively you can try this: Use a hair dryer to melt a little bit of ice at the front center of the drawer don't do too much or the butter knife in a few steps won't reach. You just need to loosen the front. Wedge something under the drawer to hold it up. Take a butter knife or other knife with a slim handle and try to wedge the knife blade under the ice sheet. A butter knife is good for this because it is flexible, not too sharp, and thin. Life the ice with the knife and lift the drawer by the handle and pull both out at the same time. The drawer is attached to the ice so pulling the drawer will pull the ice out as long as the front of the sheet of ice is lifted off the ground with the knife. Once you pull out a little the knife shouldn't be needed anymore. There is a large chance the ice sheet will break into pieces and fall all over the floor shattering into even smaller pieces. Place a large towel to catch everything if you don't want water everywhere. For me the ice is there because humid air was getting into the fridge and then freezing at the bottom. I moved my fridge and the new floor was a bit sloped. This made the right door sit too high making a gap at the bottom letting the humid air in. If you don't fix what caused it in the first place it will probably happen again. Check you door heights and the rubber seal around the doors to find the problem.
You're totally right, same thing was happening to me for a long time and my husband gave it a good shake and could remove it and under it we found lots of ice and other nasty stuff.
Damn that’s a long queue, considering this was uploaded on a Friday and I’m assuming it was rush hour time is the probably the busiest time sometimes it does get busy
