Could I use it on my welds after welding patch panels on my truck and then apply body putty over top of it? How about on the welds of my floor board after welding in the new floorboard? I am trying to ensure no water seeps through the porosity of the butt welds.
Thanks for your question! Chemlok CB will hold against moisture, weathering, salt-fog, and harsh acids and alkalis. It is designed for use between -43C and 50C.
Hi. Interesting video. Thanks. I need to bond EDMI to stainless steel. The bond does not need to be permanent. Just long enough to wiggle it over a tube. I have a 3” exhaust clamp that’s 360 degrees. It’s 3” in diameter and 3” thick. My EDMI rubber sheet is 1/16th inch thick. I want to put it on the inside surface of the clamp. This will be wrapped around a 3” diameter steel pipe. The rubber is so the clamp doesn’t scar the surface of the pipe. What bonding agent and surface prep should I use? Thanks, Paul
Music adds NOTHING to tech videos. Jump cuts don't either. More views would sell more product. Do better. Your audience are SKILLED people and training videos should reflect that.

Great overview of design flexibility for adhesives. Welding and auto-body bonding is vital with the "LORD" technology for all transportation-vehicles. Thanks! T J (Tom) Vanderloop, Author, Technology Instructor & Consultant
Great Video on adhesives and standard operating procedures. Great tips for OEM-auto repair. T J (Tom) Vanderloop, Author, Technology Educator & Manufacturing Consultant (AWS & SME-Member)
Really unfortunate that this recording focuses almost entirely on the presenter and not the slides. If you like hearing someone describe what the audience is seeing in their slide deck without actually seeing the slides you’ll love this.
Thanks for this video. I have dug a hole in the dirt down to bedrock for a water pond. So I want to line the side of the hole with concrete leaving the bedrock exposed. Therefore the concrete must bond to the rock at the bottom and seal the sides of the hole to prevent water from leaking from the pond. Is this possible? What product should I use? Are the product(s) available in Mexico?
Thanks for the question! For LORD structural adhesives, follow these instructions: To remove a structural adhesive after it is cured, apply heat and a wedge force. Start with modest heat of 150° to 180°F (65° to 82°C) up to 400°F (204°C) or above to soften the adhesive. With a tool in wedge force, press along the beadline to separate the adhesive from the substrate. Remove adhesives from substrates while it is soft or grind off after the adhesive hardens again. Please let us know if you have any additional questions!
Thanks for reaching out. To answer your question, it would be difficult to identify this as a workable putty. These gap fillers are two-part chemically reactive materials, dispensed as a thick bead on one substrate and then mated with the other substrate, all within a defined open/workable time. The mixed adhesive/gap filler is then allowed to cure, providing some strength and thermal conductivity. It can be then defined as workable in the sense it is removable should the battery or assembly need to be accessed. The material cannot be reused. At this time, we are not replacing Chemlok 8560S. While both products are great general-purpose one-coat adhesives, Chemlok 8566 gives better performance for more demanding applications. For example, in our testing, Chlemlok 8566 exceeds the performance of Chemlok 8560S in salt fog and boiling water exposure. Let us know if you have any more questions or if you'd like me to put you in touch with someone who can give you additional information. Thanks!
