4x4 Saam Met Vriende is a Group of 4x4 Enthusiasts from 3 different provinces in South Africa: Gauteng, Freestate, and North West Province. Nardi, Ryan, Wayne, David, Andre and Chris... Just a couple of regular guys driving VW Amaroks, Ford Rangers and a Toyota Fortuner, that became friends during the journey of our 4x4 Adventures.
Our experience levels vary from person to person from Intermediate to Experienced Level drivers. We often have beginner 4x4 drivers joining our group. Beginners are welcome, as our more experienced drivers always guides them throughout the trails.
Together we build up experience taking on known and unknown 4x4 trails in South Africa on a monthly basis, documenting the memories on video for the world to see! The aim of the game is to have fun and enjoy the 4x4 Lifestyle as a group of friends.
Meer as 800km per tank?
Baie dankie Jehan! (Die auto is permanent 4Motion, so hy is heeltyd 4 wiel aangedrewe.) Groete, Nardi 4x4SMV
It is not a trail to be taken lightly. Technical and rewarding! You definitely feel like you have achieved a lot on each visit! John Rock 4x4 and Camp will always be a special trail for me. It was my very first trail, fresh out of 4x4 Training. It was rough!! But I thought that's how all trails will be going forward, didn't realize at the time it is actually very challenging. It made some of the other trails I did afterwards feel "easy". Getting thrown in the deep end as a first timer, back then, helped a lot to build my confidence.
Good job man , it’s so lekka to see the behind the scenes of everyone getting stuck and the real life problems of 4x4ing 👌🏼 plus the kids commentary is brilliant 😂
Baie dankie JC! Ons waardeer dit opreg! Jy is meer as welkom om saam te ry! Enige tyd!
@@devandennis1301 jy is meer as welkom!
Haha okay, so dont get me wrong, but of the 3 times I've been there and wanting to attempt this part, al 3 times, and please don't take this the wrong way, not brand bashing... al 3 times... there was a broken Jeep(1st time Broken XJ, 2nd time a Wrangler and 3rd time again, a XJ) blocking the entire road at a point where you physically cant pass. Al 3 times, help was offered, and all 3 times it was declined. Haha so one day. ONE day, mark my work, I'll complete that part of the trail!
Ai that is not lekker! Part of off roading I suppose! Your FJ will LOVE that terrain! It is very intimidating when you walk the obstacles, the camera doesn't quite capture the true intesity and steep angles (like most off roading videos I suppose...) but I did it comfortably with my 'almost standard' bi TDi Amarok, with the help of Wayne with the Fortuner leading the way and guiding us through the obstacle. He is an EXCELLENT spotter!
haha I love that he still has the paper Numberplate! but eina, that wall tap at the end... ooff. Darem is my FJ 'n kortgat, haha so is al paar keer sonder 'n scratch deur daai gat
Spoiler alert... you are going to see that exact same tap on the back on two more vehicles in our videos coming soon of the same event. There was a rut causing the vehicles to slide their rear ends out. Fortunately no major damage on the vehicles. I must say, I take my hat off to the owner of the Raptor! That was not a lekker situation, but he took it like a boss and remained calm.
@@4x4SMV Exactly as you say there. Every sport has its injuries. Haha no need getting mad, when you're the one behind the wheel. You just best stay calm an minimize the damage. I've only done De Wildt 2 times now, first time my car was still stock as a rock, second time after I did some proper underbody protection, but I'm keen on going back to test out my new suspension. We also took a buddy of mines Prado there like 4 days after he got the car, also still paper plate in the window. I'd say De Wildt is a pretty good benchmark trail to see what you can and cant do with your car. Looking forward to the next videos. #KeepTheShinySideUp
The Amarok 4 Motion handles mud fantastically! We have covered quite a bit of mud on past trails, perhaps I should make a mud only compilation..? But in the meantime check out the Mud Action at John Rock 4x4 and Camp. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nnz1zzHBtJE.html
The 2.0 bi Turbo has more than enough power and torque. On the road, the V6 is in it's class of its own, I can't compete there in a road race. But with my 2.0 Bi Turbo Amarok I am yet to be outdone on a trail by a V6. The 2.0 Bi Turbo has the same 4x4 capabilities as the V6 mechanically and electronically, with more than enough torque to get the obstacle done comfortably for a 4 cylinder. It does not sit in the shadow of the V6 in offroad conditions. It accepts the challenge, and gets it done effortlessly.
