Biggest problem and no one raising it. Why auro is not growing? 3000+ compared to planned 50000 many decades back. Reason following Mothers plan. She followed Theoposhy and disconnected with Spirituality. She herself admitted the plans were wrong. Why wrong as it got disconnected with Shri Aurobindo's vision and spirituality. Does anyone have guts to raise it? No because they fear prosecution or kicked out. Fear yes. The spiral is wrong. All ancient special cities had a special simple structure. Thats where the cradle of civilization spreader after each cycle of destruction. Aurbindo and Mother were like Shiv and Shakti. One consciousness other creative force. Lol saying we don't want spiritually. Lol Aurbindo chose this location 12,79 12 Is Jupiter Cycle and 12 Jyoitirling. 79 Just search panchuta shivlings on 79. Its a energy meridian. Everything Auro visioned was spirtiual and thats why its taken out so thats why auro not growing and not spreading. Thats why you have to rely on tourism and not self sustainable.
This is so sad and infuriating!!! 😭😭😭 I can't believe this is happening in Auroville! I am from so far away. If there's a way to support Auroville and save it from destruction, let me know. This is a global agenda all around the world.
The former BJP-PM Modi government has "nationalised" and politicised Auroville since July 2021 and has made it one of its pet projects. This goes straight against the Charter of Auroville. With the recent national elections the BJP has weakened in power and it would be good for AV to see with Indian National Congress, the Congress Party, whether they would be interested to look into the current mismanagement of Auroville where Aurovilians have fully lost their input in the decision making process of all vital issues. The Indian National Congress could be able to address this as a government issue. Auroville and Aurovilians have the full right to get involved politically, not for power but to equalise the powers of RA, GB and the AVFO.
@@umesh4040 I do not know about thousands of families but no one should be forgotten who gave land to Auroville for free, they rather should be honoured.
The center of Auroville is in danger due to ~60 acres of missing plots. 56 years after trying but failing to buy it is high time to obtain them differently, through land exchange. Navajata appointed by the Mother long ago bought lands far away as they were cheapest and could be used later for exchange. Many resident caretakers of these unregulated plots got so attached that they don't want to move to AV center now. Are we just the same as anywhere else in the world?
This script was being written way back, at least 25 years back, when foundation would make it difficult to some aurovillians to come back to their communities and would grab that property....nobody said anything for long time but iguess now water has come above the head....
The whole point of why the City of Auroville has never been build earlier is because : there has never been the money to build it. You cannot build the city from donations. Today, with the GoI's representative, the Secretary and the GB, we see the same fact : there is no money. There is no real money to buy new land. Hence, for them : the clumsy decision to exchange precious parts of Auroville land for new land. Yes, today, land has become extremely expensive, that is why you need real money to buy it. Do not pretend to want to build the City if you do not have the real means for it. Aurovilians have to come together on this as AV cannot be build in a hurry with a clumsy management in charge.

Thanks for putting this out in the public. We have been coming to Ashram and AUroville for decades in our family. All this is very sad to hear. We are only now hearing about Land exchanges, wish this information was made known earlier
Ok I will exress myself as u asked. The problem is and always has been that the City, yes with a master plan to build it....and all the beautiful things it contains .....if one should actually have a look at it ... That the City.....has never been part of Auroville life. And that is the problem. Because it is indeed one of the big reasons for being in Auroville. For Auroville.
Auroville need mercantalist policies through creation of credit locally within Auroville. without a credit union of Auroville with development you will have issues like this. I was in auroville. The nature is beautiful but politics and hidden altitude of people are really toxic. I could not stand that.
The scam is selling donated AV land and minting money on rotten deals without following General Finance Rules 309 and without the permission from the legitimate groups. Already 200 crores loss, someone is minting money on something they didnt buy or dedicate their lives to developing... selling it with homes and people working living without informing them. BIG SCAM is correct. Aim your ire in the right direction.
From almost zero trees Aurovillians are the people who created a forest there. They are cutting trees in less than 0.1% of the region to execute the development and design as per The Mothers plan. The plan is already created by Mother Mirra in 1970s. There was a deviation by mistake long back in one region. This act is to bring it back to make her original design without which they will not be able to achieve the required overall structure. They created this and they will recreate it in much better way. The people who developed this knows the pain of cutting this much better than us. They will redo this.
The Mother mentions desalinisation (besides channeling water from the Himalayas) right away, in the very first conversation on Auroville!!! "The biggest difficulty is water, because there is no nearby river up there; but they are already trying to harness rivers. There is even a project to divert water from the Himalayas and bring it across the whole of India (L. had made a plan and discussed it in Delhi; of course, they objected that it would be a little costly!). But anyway, without going into such grandiose things, something has to be done to bring water; that will be the biggest difficulty, that's what will take the longest time. As for the rest - light, power - it will be made on the spot in the industrial section - but you can't manufacture water! The Americans have given serious thought to a way of using sea water, because the earth no longer has enough drinking water for people (the water they call "fresh"1... it's ironical); the amount of water is insufficient for people's use, so they have already started chemical experiments on a big scale to transform sea water and make it usable - obviously that would be the solution to the problem. S.: But it already exists. It exists, but not in a sufficient proportion. S.: Yes, in Israel. They do it in Israel? They use sea water? Obviously, that would be the solution - the sea is there. Too bad that the illustrious team was not informed that the 'lake' is not a canal or some ornamental water body. The Mother wished a town for 50,000 inhabitants; the water would be supplied by a huge lake, and desalinated water would be used as well. From a famous conversation in Mother's Agenda, 31 December 1969: "Roger's idea is to have an island in the centre surrounded by water, running water which will be used for the city's whole water supply; and when it has gone through the city, it will be routed to a mill and will be used to irrigate all the environing agriculture. Matrimandir lake being projected here as a potential source of conflict with the locals. Why create an additional fear where there is non for existing lakes like Irumbai Eri or Usteri?
For additional lake water the Mother herself spoke about following Israel in water solutions, so seawater desalination in the Agenda of December 31, 1969, but we know better: mind over Supermind.
