George Ulrich has been breeding Braunvieh Cattle for over 60 years, here are a few of his cattle. He has striven to have both milk and beef production.
Very good work, sir. Yet I do have to admit that the dual purpose type appeals most to me. I always shudder a little at the sight of extreme beef or dairy animals. I like it mellowed out some. But hats off of your breeding, having taken the effort of generations to build.
Hello Mr. Ulrich, my name is Carlos Bernal im a braunvieh breeder from Mexico, i realy like your cattle, it would be delightfull to be in contact so i can learn more about the history of braunvieh cattle that its my pasion, hope you are doing well
Neo Gomez, yes Ricco has pedigree, all cows have been sold except one bull; however, I still have semen and embryos for sale. Feel free to email me at marty.ulrich@gmail.com if you have any more questions.
This is a practice of many people, especially in the East like Russia, because they found that the production of milk is cheaper through the use of genetic diversity. I think you will have success in goal of improving your cattle with using Original Braunvieh
thanks, I just want to find out more about them as we dairy farmers at home, we used Holstein cows for nearly 20years and for the last 5 or 6 years we have used a mixture of Rotbunt and Fleckvieh in our herd. our plan is to use another breed and make a 3-way cross, and looking at the original braunvieh as the black foot might be a useful trait to help with feet condition. do you think the braunvieh would be a suitable breed for our cross? we would like a cow doing maybe 8000kgs with high solids.
There is painfully little info around but you can try the Swiss Braunvieh Association's page and look for the Original Braunvieh pages... Or website in the description if your german is not so good. Feel free to use the phone numbers on that website to talk to George...
