(clips the Mario "OOF!"-a-rama near the beginning and sets it to the "mochi mochi dance" theme) Introducing the all-time strangest new recruit to the Pecharunt Nation! Don't ask me why he says "OOF!" instead of "mochi mochi", but he sure can jump! D:
4:45: The game crashed because Luigi did something. 5:38: "NOOOOO!!! You're not supposed to be able to beat these fire guys!" I think this is the second time I've seen 7:51 on this channel...two different runners getting nearly this exact same crash. And apparently softlocks can happen there too? Is this a glitch that's easy to reproduce? D:
The emulator crashes sweet god lmao Speedrunners: "Hey, board Mods? Shouldn't we be using a much more modern, secure and stable emulator for runs? It's easy to find holes and a 10+ year old program and certain tricks cause the emulator to crash..." Board Mods: "nah bro its like 200% fine just keep using the emulator that's older than Jesus' umbilical cord."
If I had a nickel for every time I saw Exodia cause the derailment of a speedrun I would have two nickels, which isn't a lot but its weird that it happened twice.
i just hate it when i forget to save my game on the n64, and then because the system has so much dirt in it it just freezes and everything is lost 🙂 (there's no twitching emoji, so just imagine mr smiley face here twitching)
6:34: Ah yes, the "1-in-256" glitch. For some reason, in Generation 1, the accuracy of all moves is slightly lower than their stated accuracy, because a move's accuracy is stored in game ROM as a number from 0-255, but the formula to determine whether you hit or not divided by 256. ULTRA bad luck! D: He has no excuse for 8:12, however.
31:55 Uh... Y'know, he does possess attacks that can kill the Tickers. Isn't it worth, like, 2 seconds to just somersault into them so they don't keep getting in the way? It is a shame that you can't defend yourself while using the Talon Trot, admittedly...
