In the current socioeconomic system of capitalism, there will always be a market for everything. Everything has a price which is a SAD and sickening thing! We need a brand new socioeconomic system where all of us humans are sacred and valueable and we need a system that caters for our human needs and those who are able need to contribute according to our talents and passions.
Ive known Alex since he started, i feel like hes came so far and im just so proud of what hes achieved. i love all his songs and cant wait too see what happens in his future!
I know him for years now but until now I think he has found his way to success. He's very talented and hopefully he will keep on making his own music that is so refreshing nowadays that everything seems to be so commercial
Seriously though, that's all these shows do today, give you a bet of exposure that you would not otherwise, have. In the end; the rest is up to the Artist as to where they take it from there. Sadly, I doubt Alex will win this, simply, because where pop music is currently, and has been for a while, but the scene is getting old now, with the style that has dominated for pushing, 30 odd, darn, years now, and retro or not, because so few are doing this type of music and have not done for a very, long time; that makes it NEW, for THIS, generation, regardless. So whether he wins this or not, he will get great exposure, and hopefully, that can help his career REALLY, take off. And hey, I'm Canadian myself, we need MORE, Cunnucks in the pop music scene today. My Best. Out.
If he revives old school music again, or even, old school STYLE, of music, then he'll bring something new and much needed to the current, dry, dead and insanely, boring, pop music scene. I just, hope he stays true to his current, look and style, as it works, big time.
Just a precision, i don't think he's a self taught singer because he said elsewhere he worked for few years with the vocal coach of his brother (who was last year sem-finalist of The Voice).
You just keep saying the same compliments over and over... "Making the song his own" "his stylistic choices" "his artistic choices" "He's so good." Ugggh! If you're repeating yourself over and over it's too much commentary!
Thank you for your chanel and your comment, your expertise on these exceptional performance that I love : I listen to it over and over, I must be on my 100th listen maybe! This song about freedom and youth, a cry for freedom, sung with this voice!, powerful yet gentle, are completely addictive: I can't wait for the live shows... In fact, i thought, when i was listening to him, of the young Robin Gibb from the Bee Gees, i don't know exactly why. Maybe his sensitivity and something in his voice. He's got to win, there's no other way!
Maybe Reid has also an excellent teacher who help him to develop his artistic voice and composition ? I love so much his way of singing that now I'm afraid these next songs won't reach the same quality. It's stupid to think that! I'm not a specialist like you just a fan.
Where? I have yet to hear him on mainstream radio in my neck of the woods. Sorry, maybe I'm insanely, old fashioned but if you have not made it to mainstream radio, and in popular, music videos, you have not made it as far as I'm concerned. Until you have become a household name, everywhere, you have not made it. But of course, I'm very happy to see a fellow Canadian succeed.
By him singing on AGT, that drove people to his channel where I think another singer is getting bigger views too where he collaborated with a singer I never heard of until viewing his channel. You should also check out this song that featured him: Grace Gachot - Built To Be Bad (with Alex Sampson)
Honestly I always notice some contestants are lucky but not necessarily good performers I definitely agree with you honey there is favoritism, racism or simply exaggeration
i agree that kennedy was robbed and that abi outgrew the rest of the competition and was able to deliver it consistently while others such as kaibrienne, tristan and mckenna struggled with ups and downs. her voice is super dynamic and she became a super versatile performer in front of everyones eyes, which was super cool to watch. bring me to life was definitely a turning point for her but before that she had a couple of amazing moments such as her audition, "welcome to the black parade" and "goodbye yellow brickroad" as well. the best winner american idol has had it in awhile. in the past years, only male country singers with little to no range were winning the show so it's a breath of fresh air to see a girl like her taking the prize home.
Abi knocked it out of the park with “goodbye yellow brick road”, that was such a great performance! I actually haven’t watched the last couple of seasons or even heard much about the winners, so that makes sense as to why Abi’s win was as big as it was (not only because she is a great performer and vocalist), it was all over the internet and I couldn’t resist but to tune in! Luckily it was on Hulu so I was able to watch this time around - I was so shocked so many of the contestants were so amazing right off the bat though, it was a tough race for sure!
PSA: I just had to hop on to say that as more people watch this video and I become increasingly more embarrassed that I posted this, I DON'T think I did a good job singing this song, BUT I hope you don't become discouraged when you try something a little too challenging for you and it doesn't sound great! It's all apart of the learning journey!
This was such a good video to watch. Thank you for being so vulnerable and letting us into this amazing video with great lessons. There’s definitely a big difference like you stated. But your voice sounds so lovely throughout.❤
Thank you so much for the kind words! It’s definitely vulnerable to sing in public as a beginner, and I know I have so much more to learn, but I hope that I can inspire other people to not be afraid to start singing if they’d like to as well!
