Bigginhill air show back in late 70s had a squadron of these doing there display at end of there display thay race across the run way then just went straight up in to the sky like rockets it was amazing never seen any thing like that before as a kid I mu fav jet growing up ❤❤❤❤

Newer forget one of my first tasks as an apprentice in 1980 at the RNoAF was to work together with an crew chief doing a turnaround on these aircrafts with paper thick wings.

Knut PFM as we used to say . your Starfighter is one of the ones. I flew in as a flight surgeon, in the second seat,to figure out the disorienting effects of the G forces in the bomb tossing manoeuvre employed when we were the tip of the NATO spear at the height of the cold war in the 60s. I never actually flew a Starfighter, the rarest of privileges, although I had my RCAF wings later on lesser birds. Your flight at Sola is poignant to me since as a child in Scotland in the 1940s the Luftwaffe frequently bombed us from Sola. As my name suggests we have Norse ancestry from far back. She was the best plane at her time!!! As for wings that people complain about size ... F 16 has smaller wings but "computer" helps pilot to stabilize it and also....the crashes in german air forces are due to inexperience of pilots and wrong way to use it!!! F 104 is interceptor !! Its not dogfight figter nor bomber !!

Thank you again! To watch them dance in the air gracefully joined in a duo of stick, rudder and coordination is hard to describe in words, you got to see it. These two Jungmanns were built under licence in Spain by CASA.
