So I Have a 23 Roadglide ST, I did the K&N filter, stock air box because that's more than enough air flow, with the sharkroad slip on, and my mileage to a from is actually pretty amazing so far. I did find out, if you gut the cat, it will reduce the heat build up, allowing the M8 to run a lot cooler. Plus, a company called DK Customs makes what's called Thunder torque inserts that help remove reversion that's caused by the stock exhaust with the stock cat being installed. They have a site that shows all sorts of graphs plus the guys who do it do a pretty damn good job of explaining everything in detail. I plan on doing the TTi's soon, just need to gut the cat to get rid of all the heat that cooks my leg when I ride. Oh and I live in Florida so no issues with needing a tune

Two years later and they are still holding up good. The end caps are black but that’s mostly because of my tune. The socket head bolts that hold the end caps in place are a little rusted but other than that they are still shining good with no rust. Shortly after I got them I did remove the baffles and when I did I sand blasted them and coated them with high temp paint. They haven’t rusted at all.

@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_ 2 года назад
It did make a noticeable difference between with baffles and without as far as noise goes. As for change in breathing for the engine I doubt it will make to much of a difference. However, I do know that some of the dyno runs I’ve seen have shown that they made a difference with or without baffles installed. Luckily these baffles are able to be removed and installed fairly easily. So at the least give it a try and see what it’s like worse case put them back in.

I have a 2015 elctra glide ultra limited and thinking about getting these slip ons did you have to retune the engine after the install? If not how did it run with the baffles and without?
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_ 2 года назад
This is the M8 engine. Your bike has a twin cam in it. I’ve been told that the twin cams run better if they can breath better. As for my bike if you ONLY change the exhaust OR the air filter/intake. Then you don’t have to tune the bike because the ECM can make the necessary adjustments to keep the AFR “Air Fuel Ratio” at the desired Range. However, if you have already installed an aftermarket air filter/intake then if you are going to install an after market exhaust as well. Then you should get a tune to go with both the Exhaust and the intake changes. This is to allow the ECM to have the ability to adjust the AFR and keep it in the desired range. If you do no get a tune then your engine will be running lean and will only run leaner on days it’s cold or if you travel into a higher altitude like riding in the mountains. Running your engine lean like that over and extended period of time WILL damage the Valves, Pistons, Cylinder walls, and Heads as well as the exhaust. This is all due to excessive heat build up inside the combustion chamber during the lean running conditions. The more throttle you give It the hotter it will get as well so if your riding it hard or riding it at highway speeds for long distances it can cause long term or even permanent damage over a period of time. So YES I would recommend getting a tune if you already have an aftermarket intake or air filter and you do decide to put any aftermarket exhaust on the bike as well. It doesn’t have to be a super fancy tune neither. Can be a basic bare bones tuner the biggest thing is enabling the ECM to be able to adjust more and keep the AFR within the desired range and not letting your engine run lean.

Thanks for the video. Based off what I saw I bought the bad ass mirror. Still quite skeptical I waited for the slow boat from china. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Look nice. Sound great. I don’t buy much from china manufacturers anymore but these were with a try at the price point. Not perfect. Had to re-stuff baffling a couple times but over all I give them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ which for a Chinese product is pretty good. Had them about a month now and I’m still impressed.

The baffles on my Sharkroad slippons were literally nothing more than metal with what looked like large cheese grater perforated holes in it. There was zero packing to blow out. After running my Sharkroad Slippons about 2000 miles without the baffles installed. I sand blasted them at work then coated them with 1500deg exhaust paint to keep them from ever rusting. Putting them back in was a bit tighter then when I removed them due to the thickness of the exhaust paint but it looks good and will last a long time.

Awesome, I like mine. I ended up putting the baffles back in. It still talks enough to hear it over the radio when you get on the throttle, but normal cruising it's a mellow tone that is NOT defining and still sounds good.

@@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_ Is there a reason you put the baffles back in? Did it start to run funny? Or you just didn’t want it so loud. I have these just installed on my 2019 SG and was considering baffle removal. Thanks
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_ 2 года назад
@@Xboxguy666 I first pulled the baffles out to see how it changed the sound level and to make a video so others can see what it sounded like. There was very little info on the Sharkroad brand Exhaust when I made these videos. After riding around 1500 miles give or take I put the baffles back in because I found that it was a bit TO LOUD for my taste. I couldn’t hardly hear the radio while cruising down the road at 70mph. It just didn’t suit my liking so I sand blasted the baffles and coated them with high temp exhaust paint then reinstalled them. The high temp paint was for nothing more than prevention of rust. The slip-on housings are chrome coated steel the baffles are bare steel. Also as far as running any different. I really didn’t “feel” any difference in how it performed without the baffles. I mean maybe a very slight loss in low end torque but it was not definite. I know these M8 engines like to have more back pressure compared to the older twin cam engines Harley used. They get better power and torque with a 2-1 or 2-1-2 exhaust than they do with a fully open free flowing true duel exhaust. So it’s possible the baffles added a slight amount of back pressure and I was feeling the difference but I doubt it.
@Xboxguy666
@Xboxguy666 2 года назад
@@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_ I really appreciate the response full of detail. I do have a couple more questions; you ran it like that stock with no tuner? You didn’t notice it running any hotter than normal? It is definitely hard to find info out there. And coming across your video and seeing comments I had to ask since you’re one of the few pioneers who actually documented their experience.

@@Xboxguy666 yes totally stock with no tuner. Stock intake, stock head pipe, stock everything except the Sharkroad Slip-ons. There was no over heating or any issues like that. I probably put close to 3000 miles on them before adding the stage I with an intake and tuner. I did make a second video showing comparison of stock, Sharkroad with baffles, and Sharkroad withOut baffles. Check out my videos it looks just like this video except it’s longer. There is a huge difference between Sharkroad with baffles and Sharkroad without baffles.

How was the install? I have read that they use different brackets so they don't quite line up like stock... is that correct?
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_ 2 года назад
On my 2017 Ultra Limited it fit just fine with no issues. Only after I removed and reinstalled the baffles after painting the baffles with exhaust paint so they wouldn't rust did I have any issue with the fitment. That was fitting the baffle back into the muffler with it installed on the bike already. All the brackets lined up just fine on my bike.

What did you use to pull the baffles out ?
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_ 3 года назад
I removed the end caps. Then used a pair of pliers to grab the outer lip of the baffle. With a side to side and gentle pulling motion I wiggled them out. They had about 2500 miles on them when I did it and they still came out fairly easily. However, putting them back in was a little different. I had painted them with high temp exhaust paint so they wouldn't rust. When putting them back on I had to use a block of wood and a mallet to drive them back in. It was a tight fit.

@@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_ Mine are brand new, as of right now they won’t come out.
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_ 3 года назад
@@josephmiller2148 try getting them hot first. Metal expands when it's hot. Also you may have to use a little muscle to get it to start moving. Note, mine are and were installed on the bike. The baffles are only pushed over a pipe on the back side of the muffler housing on the inside. They are not welded just a tight fit. Like I said before. All I did was spray paint them with high temp exhaust paint to keep them from rusting. Just the thickness of the paint made the fit much much tighter going back on. I would definitely run the bike till the exhaust is hot then try to pull them out. Might want to take the end caps off first. Aluminum and heat do not go well together. Dont want to strip the threads on the little Allen head bolts that hold the caps on.

Did u like it more with baffles or with out? Anyway you could do a video of you leaving drive by
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_ 3 года назад
My personal opinion. I liked it more with the baffles in. I just reinstalled them about a week ago. I dont plan on removing them again. Without the baffles it was too loud for my taste. It gave me a head ache after an hour or so of riding. Also I DID notice a power loss on the lower end with them removed as well as in the mid range. Note, that a seat of the pants feeling. As for doing a drive by.... unfortunately Tuesday night 07/20/21 I hit a deer with this bike and its damaged all down the right side. Both crash bars are bent back. Front fender is bent, right lower fairing is damaged, chrome cover on the front fork is bent, and the right fog light and turn signal were torn off. I'll probably make a video of it in a day or two showing the damage. Since the install of this exhaust I have also installed a high flow air cleaner and have had a base map stage one tune put into it using the Power Vision Shop tune. That's the one where you buy the license to tune the ECM and it remembers the ECM from that point. Since I have installed the air cleaner and the tune it did get more throaty even with the baffles in. If I drop a gear and give it full throttle to talks pretty loud but at cruising speeds and holding a speed it's a deep mellow tone which is what I wanted.

Did you loose back pressure performance at all?
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_
@WORKHARDRIDEHARDER_ 2 года назад
When I removed the baffles I thought I could feel a slight loss in low end torque but it was a total seat of the pants feel and a little I often couldn’t tell a difference. When, put the baffles back in i didn’t feel anything different. I do know that the M8 engines like more back pressure than the older Twin cams did. I also know that by removing the baffles it does drop the back pressure a little. Now is it enough t really see a difference in performance. No, not in my opinion. Did the bike still run good? Yes, the bike still ran good and did not hesitate or perform badly in anyway. Keep in mind it was with the totally stock intake and head pipe. I have Since gotten a high flow filter housing and filter as well have a tune. The bike runs great. I will be getting the Fuel Moto Jackpot Head Pipe in the near future as well as a Zippers Zip Kit with a Red Shift 468 Cam and a full dyno tune done. I will make a video of it when I get it done and post the results. Still saving up for parts and work to be done.

The whole point of this video was to show you that this mower can and will mow over more than the average mower will with no issues. I've opened up about 6 acres with this mower like this and it handles it just fine. It mowes grass just as well with no issue. If you are thinking that this mower can't handle it. Then maybe you're comparing what you're use to to what this mower will handle. This is a video to show those that are curious if these are good mowers that these mowers are excellent in my own opinion. They are made well have great warranties and they are tough as nails. This is not your average mower for mowing your average lawn. Its heavy duty for a reason.
