We are a couple who have retired early and are now traveling the world. Our escapades have taken us to so many places around the world and we look forward to our future escapades. Hope you join us on our travels.
If you’re asking about our apartment it was 900 euros a month which was in the low season and it also included a house keeper that came each week to clean the place. Loved it and hostess was the best.
Have you been to Quarteira before? If not go to Baz and Minnie’s Irish Pub and The Shaker. See Baz and Ted and tell them Ray sent you. Thanks for watching and commenting on our channel.
I’m doing the GBR cruise on Splendor this September. I am so excited. I will be having my birthday whilst on the ship. Actually we will be at Airlie Beach that day. What a way to spend a birthday! It makes turning 56 less daunting. 😎
Thanks for watching our channel and mostly for your comments. We LOVED our cruise and know that you will as well. Looking forward to hearing what you thought of the cruise. Let me wish you an early happy bday.
Nice vid, thanks for sharing your experience. For your next visit, you must eat: tortilla española, callos, calamares a la romana, jamón ibérico, molleja..... I would also recommend one day trips to nearby locations: Segovia, Aranjuez, Toledo, Ávila...
Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated. We will for sure try those foods you suggested. We did go to Toledo and Segovia and did a short video on that. Would love to hear your thoughts on it.
We left to head back to the states to family and friends. We have an Alaskan Cruise in June. Then we’re in the states for a loft a few months to help take care of my mom. Then in 2025 weeks head to Turkey, Egypt, Bulgaria, Romania and hopefully Montenegro.
@@retireearlyandtravelthewor8507 I Getting ready to go on a mediterranean cruise stopping in Portugal first and then after the cruise, I will go back to Portugal for two weeks. where will you be in August/September?
@annamcgonigle2712 we will be in the states until the end of the year. Going to Tenn to take care of my mom from Aug - Dec. hope all is well with you and the family and hope that our paths will cross again. PS sorry I didn’t have any pictures of us to put in the video. For you guys definitely were a huge part of our time in Portugal.
Thanks for your comments and for subscribing to our channel. Backpack is one that I have had for a long time. Not a major name brand but one that fits me well. Your back choice will really come down to your comfort level and how much you want to put in it. One recommendation is make sure there is a pocket on the back for your passports. This way they’re not vulnerable to being stolen. We carry all our medication papers just in case new meds are needed. We only carry major medical thru Allaince. In our travels we’ve found that health care services are great and affordable in most countries we’ve visited. Portugal being one of the best so far. We pay out of pocket for our visits and check ups while traveling and fill all our prescriptions before heading back to the states. Hope that helps and if you have any further question’s please don’t hesitate to ask. You can follow us on FB at Ray and Carrie’s Retirement Adventures if you want to. Safe travels to you.
Paperwork - passports obviously but you will want to check any visa requirements prior to traveling. In our two years of traveling we’ve only needed passports. Paperwork on vaccines that you’ve taken prior to traveling. You can go online to find places that will help you with any needed and or suggested vaccines prior to traveling.
Thanks for your comments. So glad we got to know you and the time we spent preparing a meal at your home was definitely a highlight I will treasure for a long time.
We were there in August which is their winter and water was cold. It should be nice when you’re there. Hope you enjoy your stay and for watching our RU-vid channel. Safe travels.
Glad to help. It’s right behind San Martinos Italian restaurant. Darlan is the best and great with kids as well. Thanks for watching and subscribing to our channel.
Thank you for the video, we are taking this cruise in September 2024, Did you dive with the ship or did you do this on your own, and if so who did you use
The Snuba diving we did with the cruise ship excursion. But if we were to do it again we would just do it on our own and save a few dollars. No matter what you do you will have a blast. Thanks for watching and commenting on our channel. Enjoy your cruise.
Great tips. 👍 I’m planning and saving for retirement and am a few years away. How much money do you spend on average per year for the both of you? I’m working out my affordability factor. Thanks.
Thank you for watching and commenting on our channel. Last year we kind of spent more than we planned due to visiting some countries that are not low cost such as New Zealand, Australia and Singapore. Our cost was $55-$60k. While we really do our best to live on less than that there were just some places we really wanted to visit. Traveling thru SE Asia was really inexpensive as well as the time we spent in Portugal in 2022. Setting a budget really depends on your comfort level and how you choose to live while traveling. Travel hacking can save you a lot of money while traveling. We hope you continue to follow our adventures. Thank you.
@@retireearlyandtravelthewor8507 thank you for your reply. $60k for the whole year with traveling/food/rental/etc for the both of you is very good. I’ll aim for that or slightly higher if we want to have a good retirement traveling. Enjoy your travels. :)
Singapore is a warm country with a warm heart. A peaceful, meaningful and wonderful country to live in. Amazing country with different races and peoples all living together. Cheap and good hawkers foods truly mind-blowing.
Really enjoyed your Mediterranean cruise adventure video Ray. Educational and Entertaining. funny remarks were a bonus. Happy Holidays coming up with your family.
Glad you enjoy Singapore. Come back again as there's just so much more to see and do - Botanic Garden which is a World Heritage Site, Forest nature trails, our Neighbourhood towns, local Hawker centres etc. Thank you both for visiting.
Well done fer the a tempt, the silk worm are good with a local beer, like peanuts. I was never impressed with the bigger water beetles like a cockroach. Cross into Cambodia and they do a nice big spider as well.
Yea I was told that the first week I put out the video. LOL. Thought I looked it up and spelt it correctly but I guess not. Thanks for commenting and for watching our channel.
That’s great. When we went there we were told it was to end in Sep. glad for all who can experience it. We had a blast. Thanks for your comments and for watching our channel.
"we're over THE bay" That looks like Captain Cook bridge, in which case it would have been the Georges River you flew over, which eventually empties out into Botany Bay. I live a few km further up that river. Kangaroo is very lean meat. Unfortunately they carry toxoplasmosis in the wild, so it's not a good idea to go hunt your own roo and eat it unless you plan to cook it thoroughly. Much as I love your comments about Bondi, really there are way better beaches in Sydney and lots of them. Its a shame you didn't take a ferry across to Manly, which leaves from right next to the opera house. I assume your cruise left from the overseas passenger terminal? It's located between the bridge and the opera house, with all of those ferries leaving in between. It's the best Sydney port to leave from, and has the best transport to and from. If you are on a large (tall) ship, they don't fit under the bridge, so you will be leaving from there for sure, and won't miss the opera house. If it's P&O or one of the expensive small cruise lines, you may be out of luck as they don't usually dock there, but they do sail past the opera house on the way out of the harbour. Sydney is my home city so maybe I'm biased, but it is a gorgeous city and I feel blessed to live here. Thank you for showing some of the sights and sounds of Sydney. It's always nice to hear that our visitors enjoyed their stay.
Thank you so much for all of your comments. And I am so thankful that you have watched and commented on our channel. We loved our time in Sydney very much and hope to get back to Australia sometime in the future.
Sorry. Thought I got it right when looking it up but I think autocorrect changed it. But sorry for the misspelling. Was a wonderful place to visit. Thanks for watching and for commenting on our channel.
Thank you. Much appreciated. Hope you can watch our other video as I ate the insects in Bangkok. LOL. Again really appreciate the comments and for watching our channel.
Hey ray and Carrie , I've been enjoying your videos for two weeks now. You Both are Doing Great , You two are actually ideal couples who are travelling in this age , Appreciate it , Is There Any chance we could team up for video editing and thumbnail design?
Thank you so much for your kind words. The RU-vid channel is just something I am doing for the fun of it. While getting more people to subscribe and like our channel is fun, it’s just not a high priority for us. We’ve retired and do t want this to become like a job for us. As you can probably tell, I spend little time editing and on our thumbnails. Thumbnails are just photos I’ve taken with the exception of the last two. I say all that to say this. It’s possible to team up with you but it would have to wait until we get back yo the states in Nov. I also ask if there would be a cost for your time? For this might your job and what you do for a living. If so, I would probably pass on the offer because as I stated, this YT is just for fun and a hobby I’m doing while traveling. I hope this makes sense to you and that you continue to follow our journey. But I do understand if you don’t. Thanks for your comments and for watching our channel.
americans and immigrants have ruined the country and the culture by bringing in theres now aussies r starting to embrace there culture more than there own how sad
we dont need people here our population is enough what is Australians is it immigrants is it americans we need the next generation of Australians from born and raised Australians not foreigners the immigration law is strict so I doubt ur living here permanently u think Australia is just what ur seeing online and tourist traps when the reality is we have a housing crisis, u cant pay for anything anymore everything is expensive rent is weekly there is a youth crime along with housing crisis we have to destroy our nature and animal habitat to make room for building houses for people like u our country will turn polluted like urs slowly and it will be ur fault for ruining it its easy for u to get up and go back home when that happens but where r Australians gonna go the ones who r born and raised when our home country is the one ur talking about. there r kids and adults walking around with guns now and knives when weapons here r illegal doesn't stop people from getting there hands on it always been that way. the country gets boring u work urself so much just to be able to not do anything the country itself is so far away so I dont understand why u would want to move here when it takes 20hr or more to travel anywhere outside he country is woke like this video and every other tourist video we dont live like that if u saw what the government did the the indigenous u wouldn't want to stay 90% of born and raised aussies r moved to different countries cuz they r not gonna tolerate it
Tips 1. Take regular bus service double decker/chose top seats. 2. Buy local sim cards in town @ 7-11. 3. Bring tissues on visit to hawker centers. 4. bring fold-able umbrella. Seniors get discounted attraction tickets.
The last time we were in Bangkok we had to go around a demonstration of about six people wearing yellow shirts. It escalated after that. Love Bangkok. We had the best Pad Thai at the markets. So fresh😊
It’s also New South Wales… not South Wales…. But so pleased you enjoyed your visit and please come back again… there is so much more to see in our vast and beautiful country
I knew that but forgot to add the New to my commentary. But thanks for watching and for commenting on our channel. Can’t wait to get back there some day.
Very good video guys! Welcome 🙏🏻 So glad you chose to experience our home state mates😎👍🏻 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏🏻 New subscriber! Kindest regards Nigel WMH Team - Australia Ps… If you get an opportunity feel free to check out some of the latest videos guys👍🏻 14:31
I was told that. This was the information we were given by our tour guide. I apologize for providing the wrong information in our video. We did have a lovely time there and hope to return some day. Thanks for watching and for commenting on our channel. Again I do apologize.
@@retireearlyandtravelthewor8507 no problems, I'm just really surprised that a tour guide would be so irresponsible. I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves, you'll have to come back, there's so much more to see.
