Nice class, but totally eurocentric. All bowed instruments came to Europe from the african islamic mourish People. They have beem used since de 9 century in Persia and spreaded in Europe because of The Islamic Caliphates in Portugal and Spain
This is all rubbish the violin is an instrument that its origins in older instruments that were similar brought by the Arabs to Europe from the east. The rebab with turned into rebec than eventually was developed into the violin in italy.

There are some mistakes on the description of bows. The "Tartini's bows" were not "long" at all... We know from plenty of recent research, that many Italian violinist were preferring the shortest version of a baroque bow.
Hi Marian four thirty in the morning and have listened to your Fabulous music first time I have heard you play I loved it especially circles your old friend colin from the new Inn x
The instrument painted by Rafael is a lira da braccio, and they're not sympathetic strings. although they're not fingered, they are played on. Da Vinci played this instrument, he is depicted playing it. The violin did NOT evolve from the viola da gamba. He throws around and mixes up a lot of terms with myriad suppositions and lets "we can see" suffice for evidence.
I liked your friends composition better than Bartok! Your work reminds me of silent movie music. WONDERFUL TURN OF THE CENTURY MELANCOLI. THANK YOU LADIES YOUR WORK IS VERY BEAUTIFUL!
You're still playing as beautifully as you did back in those Birmingham days, Roger, thank you for posting this recording. John Gray / Benjamin in Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat...
Many years ago in London ca. 1990/1991 I was lucky enough to hear Declan play “Alone” by Heart on the piano. All these years later I remember his performance.

I'm confused. In one part, he says that the violin only made 4 or 5 changes from Baroque to Modern violins. But then how did all the composers change it? How did Paganini get a richer sounding violin? What changes were made there? And so on for all the other composers as well.
Just met Declan, wonderful purity of sounds! He is going to teach me a few tricks as from this coming Saturday, for chords, rhythm etc. It’s going to be great!
Just met this guy, who is now going to give me new violin lessons as from this coming Saturday, need to work on my chords, bowing and my rhythm! It is going to be great!
Before Sphor’s chinrest they had another chinrest that was on the edge. The problem was that the chin still had contact to the top reducing the tone and causing a crack. Please do the research before talking out of your “As-“
