I don't do enough pocket hole joinery to justify the investment, but if I did, I would get the Castle system in a heartbeat. I dread using pocket holes with the other brand for all the reasons (and more) that were pointed out in this video.
I'd be willing to wager the cost of that machine.... 60 grand.... that in a real world practial setting... where that machine is being used in production of the assorteded items needed.... I could beat it with my Porter Cable 552.... msrp tree fiddy... John Henry style... now I know that John Henry died beat'n that damn steam contraption... but he beat it...😉
this will not effectively cut pocket holes in 1 1/2 inch material. the pocket hole will be on the edge of the material and will not be as strong as it should be. it is only really designed for 3/4 material. it excels in 3/4 material. for 1 1/2 i use the kreg. i have this machine and the kreg
Big difference from the pneumatic then the manual. Because the manual it’s a pice of junk for almost 2000$ plus have no returns your stuck with it if you don’t like the 2 bosh router under it tied with home depot hose clamps 😂electric box from home depot 😂c mon 🤷♂️be more original
I had a really bad experience they do do returns ., tool super loud , uses parts from autozone clamps. you have to put it together nothing professional 👎 when you call the same guy in this video’s answer the phone rude guy 👎don’t waist your time or your money on this machine not worth it
I have the 110 and absolutely love it!! I would have your floor model but I can't afford that beautiful piece of equipment!! But,,,, I used a porter cable production cutter for years and then last year I purchased the 110 from you guys and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their abilities to join wood together!!!!!!!
Nice system , the problem is not all 1X material runs exactly the same from piece to piece , a 1X4 can be 3 1/2”, the next one will be 3 3/8”, milled lumber is rarely consistent
Sold me on this machine. I was looking for the porter cable that basically utilizes the same action. My cabinet maker friend continually had problems with his breaking down which I think was due to him not using dust collection. Going to get one ordered today for my kitchen cabinet job.
I would use a longer drill bit and only drill 1/4" to 3/8" deep, cracks start from the surface in. I would hope the finer thread screws wound help in hardwood.
@@tundrawhisperer4821 Yes. It can be adjusted to just larger than 1-1/2. It even says so in the manual. “The Castle 110 was designed for material thicknesses from ½” to 1”, but can handle materials down to 7/16” and up to 1 ½” thick. “
Wow guys, sorry to say but 660 dollars is insane for a pocket hole machine. Your are missing the market for this. Pro Shops are going to go for the bigger model. Your average hobbyist woodworker is not going to see the need for this machine at that price point. Kregs foreman pocket hole machine is still only 399. Why in the world do you think your product is worth spending 260 dollars more. They all do Pocket holes....Seems like you guys are pricing yourselves right out of the market.
Paid for itself a few times now just in finish carpentry frame work. The reasons he mentions are exactly why I don't use the kreg for anything but non precise, rough lumber now. I actually prefer this one on the job site when I have to haul all of my crap far from the trailer. It's not even a hobbyist argument, just another tier of customer. The same people who have things like infra fences probably would like these.
Actually the 110 handles larger panels very easily. Check out these two videos on how to deal with large panels. If your panel is clamped down to a bench or say saw horses, you can simply walk the 110 around the panel edges to cut the pockets. Other choice is a simple work support clamped to the bench next to the 110. You'll see both options in these videos. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gl6nEpz32bE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--klZ6vtuVSU.html
